The West Oakland BART station closed temporarily shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday due to shooting on a Daly City-bound train, officials said. BART spokesperson Jim Allison said in a message issued on the agency's media line that one man was injured in the incident and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. By 2 p.m., BART reopened the West Oakland station with full service on both tracks between San Francisco and the East Bay on both tracks. "The incident train has been moved to a maintenance yard for further investigation," Alison said. West Oakland station is now open. Surveillance videos that captured a deadly shooting inside a Muni train Wednesday show the man who was killed attacking another rider with what appeared to be a knife moments before the other man opened fire, according to footage reviewed by The Chronicle. The footage, which has not been publicly released, could provide the basis for a self-defense claim for Javon Green, 26, who police arrested following the shooting that killed 27-year-old Nesta Bowen and injured a 70-year-old man. It may also affect how the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office charges Green in the case. Officials with District Attorney Chesa Boudin’s office declined to comment on the footage. The incident happened on Sunday, June 19, at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Healy and Stockton. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A third-degree murder charge has been dropped against Jayana Webb, the woman accused of striking and killing two Pennsylvania state troopers and a man who the troopers were trying to help. A judge dropped the charge at Webb’s preliminary hearing Wednesday. Webb’s defense attorney says the commonwealth failed to prove his client acted with malice. But Webb is still charged with manslaughter, homicide by vehicle and DUI. A jury in New York City accepted an insanity defense claiming Richard Rojas was so psychologically disturbed he didn’t know what he was doing. The judge has said the finding would qualify Rojas for an open ended “involuntary mental commitment” instead of a lengthy prison term. He ordered Rojas held while he drafts an examination order, and said there would be a hearing on the matter Thursday.
