PREBLE, N.Y. -- Frank Suits Jr., the CEO of Suit-Kote, has been worried about the national debt for many years. He's so concerned that he had employees at his paving company put up a huge sign near the Preble Exit along Interstate 81 that shows drivers the size of the current national debt. On Monday, it read "$21.1 trillion." Suits said his employees get on a man-lift to update the sign every time the debt goes up by $100 billion. He takes a photo of it and sends it to the New York Congressional delegation. The recently passed federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act - pushed by President Donald Trump and the GOP Congress - is expected to add $1.9 trillion to the national debt by 2028, according to nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. A request from Rosie O'Donnell's teenage daughter to lift a no-contact order with the man accused of sending her obscene images was lifted Friday by a New Jersey judge. The judge agreed to lift the order barring contact between Chelsea O'Donnell and 25-year-old Steven Sheerer, according to a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Chelsea O'Donnell was 17 when Sheerer was arrested last month; she now is 18. Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels, in Toms River, also reduced Sheerer's bail to $10,000 with an option to pay 10 percent. It was previously set at $40,000 with no 10 percent option. A representative for the teenager's comedian mother didn't immediately respond to an email request for comment. Sheerer's attorney Robert Tarver said in a telephone interview Friday that the relationship between Sheerer and Chelsea O'Donnell was consensual and began on the dating website Tinder where she identified herself as 19. The Giants participated in Super Bowl Sunday. While their arch-nemesis, the Eagles, battled it out in the actual game against New England, Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. starred in a commercial for the NFL. At the end of the third quarter, the Big Blue pair channeled their inner “Dirty Dancing” and reenacted its most famous scene. Not like they had anything better to do on the NFL’s biggest day after going 3-13. During practice, something Big Blue should be doing plenty of before next season, the team takes a break. Beckham and Manning meet eyes, and the dancing begins. Of course, the ad ends with Manning lifting Beckham up and the star wideout spreading his arms. Omaha man competes at Ironman World Championships after recovering from serious waterskiing injury
When Steve Nabity first took up triathlon training, he didn’t know how to swim, and he didn’t own a road bike. The 61-year-old has since put six Ironman competitions under his belt. He made it to the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii last year, but a stomach bug hindered his performance. In October, Nabity returned to Hawaii to compete against more than 2,000 athletes in the sport’s iconic event. Swimming and cycling were the Omaha man’s best options after he sustained a serious waterskiing injury. Four years ago, Nabity and a group of friends were waterskiing in Tennessee. The then 57-year-old hadn’t been on the water in a few years, but he felt confident. When the boat started moving, Nabity attempted to stand up on his skis. CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The recent promotion of Matthew Tkachuk onto Calgary's No. 1 power-play unit is paying off. Tkachuk scored twice and Mark Giordano scored 52 seconds into overtime to lift the Flames over the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Sunday night. Calgary's power play was in a 2-for-31 slump when coach Glen Gulutzan made some personnel changes to his top unit on Thursday. One move was inserting Tkachuk into the role of net-front presence. The Flames have gone 3 for 8 with the extra man in the three games since, including a perfect 2 for 2 against Chicago.
