New Delhi (CNN Business)One of Europe's biggest airlines is going carbon neutral. EasyJet (ESYJY) announced Tuesday that it will begin offsetting emissions from its fleet of 331 planes immediately, with the aim of becoming the first major airline in the world to cut its net carbon emissions to zero. "From today onwards, easyJet will make all flights net zero carbon," it said in a statement. The British budget airline said it expects to spend £25 million ($32.4 million) over the next year compensating "for every tonne of CO2 emitted from fuel used for its flights, by ensuring there is one tonne less in the atmosphere." To do that it will invest in programs to remove CO2 from the air — for example by planting more trees — that have been certified to deliver carbon reductions that would not otherwise have happened, or that do not inadvertently lead to an increase in emissions elsewhere. "We recognize that offsetting is only an interim measure, but we want to take … [Read more...] about EasyJet flights are now carbon neutral

Why is ABC torturing Becca K? Last season on The Bachelor, the perfectly harmless-seeming Midwesterner got her dream proposal, only to be dumped on television when Arie realized that he had picked the wrong girl. For Becca, it was either the worst moment of her young life or a necessary humiliation on the road back to reality television. After all, that brutal breakup gave Becca the storyline she needed to effortlessly score The Bachelorette gig. Anyone who has forged a career for themselves off of The Bachelor franchise and FabFitFun boxes will agree that being known internationally as the dumped girl is a small price to pay for a starring role. Of course, Becca definitely thinks that all of that humiliation—and being dumped on primetime by a mediocre race car driver for a girl who barely speaks sure is humiliating—is behind her. While she seems to be contractually obligated to bring up her Arie heartbreak as often as possible, she’s probably doing so under the … [Read more...] about ABC Canceled ‘Roseanne.’ What Will They Do About Their Alt-Right ‘Bachelorette’ Contestant?

The NH Hotel Group will no longer host the 13th annual “alternative climate conference” in Munich featuring scientists skeptical of climate change alarmism following protests at its hotel. Each year, the Jena-based European Institute for Climate and Energy (EIKE), Germany’s leading private think tank on climate and energy issues, has rented out the NH Congress Center Munich for its alternative climate conference and did so once again this year until the hotel abruptly terminated the agreement this past week. The hotel group cited “security” concerns for its cancellation of the event after activists from the “Anti-Capitalist Climate Society,” whose motto is “system change, not climate change,” staged a protest of the conference including the formation of a flash mob in the hotel lobby, causing a disturbance and distributing flyers to hotel guests. “The safety and well-being of our guests and staff is always our top … [Read more...] about NH Hotel Group Cancels ‘Alternative Climate Conference’ After Protests
