Elijah McClain, a gentle, smiley, talented 23-year-old, died a brutal death – not at the hands of a back-alley assailant, but at the hands of public servants, whose duty was to “protect and serve.” In his last moments, McClain was kind to his abusers – pleading with them, he said “you are beautiful and I love you … I just can’t breathe…” Elijah’s heart-sickening story shocked the world and was enough to shake anyone’s faith in justice.
