North Carolina’s largest school district held a conference where administrators told teachers to “disrupt” whiteness by not letting parents stand in the way of social justice instruction in the classroom, Discovery Institute scholar Christopher Rufo reported Thursday. In February 2020, the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS)  reportedly held a conference called “#EdCampEquity,” which include lessons on “whiteness in ed spaces,” “microaggressions at work,” and “trauma-informed yoga,” Rufo reported . More than 200 public school teachers in North Carolina attended the conference, which was reportedly introduced by WCPSS superintendent Cathy Moore. Freelance reporter A.P. The NCAA is facing strong criticism after a women’s basketball player posted a video showing the large workout room provided to men’s tournament players and the small space given to the women. Sedona Prince, a redshirt sophomore player for the Oregon Ducks, posted the video calling attention to the disparities between the weight rooms late Thursday evening. “I got something to show y’all. So, for the NCAA March Madness, the biggest tournament in college basketball for women … This is our weight room,” she said as she pointed toward a small, single stack of weights. “Lemme show y’all the men’s weight room,” Prince said as she pointed to the much larger men’s weight room. (CNN) The NCAA has come under fire over the lack of amenities, notably the workout equipment, at the women's basketball tournament compared with the men's event this year. Both tournaments get underway this week, with the women's tournament taking place at five sites in the host city of San Antonio, Texas, and with some games in Austin and San Marcos. The men's tournament is taking place at locations in Indiana. The contrast was first highlighted by Stanford sports performance coach Ali Kershner who posted two photos on Instagram. One photo, according to Kershner, was the men's setup showing benches and other types of weight equipment. The other photo of the women's setup shows a set of free weights and some yoga mats. In her post, Kershner included the handles for NCAA women's basketball, the NCAA and March Madness, saying, "this needs to be addressed."
