The latest apparent distraction are empty seats. When asked about its poor home form, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the color of the seat coverings had been a problem for some of his squad as they play in empty stadiums due to Covid-19 restrictions. Real Madrid team bus window smashed by soccer fans ahead of Champions League tie in Liverpool
(CNN) Liverpool has condemned "a few individuals" for their "shameful behavior" after fans smashed a window of the Real Madrid team bus ahead of the Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday. Merseyside Police in Liverpool are investigating the pre-game incident which occurred when the visitors were arriving at Liverpool's Anfield stadium. The police say approximately 400 people were on site and that a "number of items were thrown" at the vehicle, while pyrotechnics were also lit in the area. Images from the scene show an outer pane of a double-paned glass window smashed out but police confirmed there were no injuries. "We condemn unequivocally the actions that led to Real Madrid's team bus being damaged during its arrival to Anfield," said a Liverpool spokesperson in a statement to CNN Sport.
