New York Public Library will keep Dr. Seuss books on its shelves: Here’s why

close Video Author on Dr. Seuss controversy: ‘This is obviously complicated’ ‘A New Day’ and ‘I Am Frida Kahlo’ author Brad Meltzer discusses cancel culture on ‘Fox & Friends.’ The New York Public Library (NYPL) will continue to lend out six specific Dr. Seuss titles , even as the business that preserves and protects the author’s legacy has decided to cease publication of said titles. Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced Tuesday, on National Read Across America Day, that publication of such titles as "And to Think That I saw It on Mulberry Street," "If I Ran the Zoo," "McElligot’s Pool," "On Beyond Zebra!," "Scrambled Eggs Super!" and "The Cat’s Quizzer" will cease following controversy that these specific books include racist imagery . The decision followed discussions held last year, with the company citing concerns that the books -- published in the 1940s and '50s -- "portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong." 20 Attorneys General Deem H.R. 1 Unconstitutional: It Sets ‘Alarming Mandates’

Twenty attorneys general signed a letter addressed to House and Senate leaders pleading against H.R. 1, which the Democrat-led House passed on party lines late Wednesday evening, deeming it unconstitutional as it sets what they described as “alarming mandates,” leading to the federalization of state elections. The House passed H.R. 1, of the “For the People Act of 2021,” Wednesday night, earning praise from Democrats across the board. Hours prior to its passage, 20 attorneys general, led by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita (R), sent a letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). H.R. 1 “betrays several Constitutional deficiencies and alarming mandates that, if passed, would federalize state elections and impose burdensome costs and regulations on state and local officials,” they wrote, detailing the Elections Clause of Article I of the … [Read more...] about 20 Attorneys General Deem H.R. 1 Unconstitutional: It Sets ‘Alarming Mandates’

Skip Bayless Finally Says Something Smart – Makes Great College Football Pick

Fox Sports pundit Skip Bayless predicted Wisconsin will beat Ohio State for the Big Ten championship. The outspoken Bayless recently said the following on his show “Undisputed”: I got Wisconsin in this game, which will eliminate all this hocus pocus about Alabama…The last three weeks I watched them crush Iowa, I watched them beat Michigan soundly and I watched them go to Minnesota. Minnesota’s not bad and they just crushed them 31 to nothing. This is a really good college football team that is extremely well coached on both sides of the ball. It’s the number two defense in efficiency in the country, and Alex Hornibrook is a very good college quarterback. Nice to see Bayless has finally come around and is not talking about some common sense sports points. It’s been a long time coming, but I’d like to personally welcome him to the team. Glad to have one of the most notable guys in sports on the team. Most people in the sports media aren’t taking my guys in Madison … [Read more...] about Skip Bayless Finally Says Something Smart – Makes Great College Football Pick
