WASHINGTON — Once an Oscar darling for “Winter’s Bone,” “Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle,” it’s a bizarre turn of events that Jennifer Lawrence won’t be competing at the Academy Awards this weekend but rather at the Razzies, honoring Hollywood’s worst. Her nomination comes for Darren Aronofsky’s “mother!,” a visionary work that wove a genius Biblical allegory but took audiences for granted with a disgusting surface experience. Her latest effort, the graphic spy thriller “Red Sparrow,” sadly continues that trend, where J-Law is taking chances with admirable gusto but is sadly trapped in off-putting framework. Set in modern-day Moscow, Russian ballerina Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence) suffers a career-ending leg injury on stage. Upon her rehab and recovery, she is recruited to “Sparrow School,” a Russian intelligence service where she is trained to use … [Read more...] about Movie Review: Spy flick ‘Red Sparrow’ has kompromat on Jennifer Lawrence

A Russian who promised to deliver cyberweapons stolen from the National Security Agency in a $1 million deal with U.S. intelligence instead hawked what may be fake kompromat on President Trump, according to a report. U.S. intelligence, working through an American businessman based in Germany, handed the Russian the first payment of $100,000 cash in exchange for hacking tools stolen from the NSA and CIA, according to The New York Times. While American intelligence officials made it clear that they were not after materials on Trump, the Russian continued feeding them unverified data related to the 2016 election. A mysterious group known as the Shadow Brokers started releasing stolen American cyberweapons used to spy on other countries in a disastrous security breach that first emerged in August 2016. Counterintelligence officials and the FBI were desperate to retrieve the documents to get a better idea of how much of their operation had been compromised. Last March, Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff was pranked by two Russian pranksters notorious for making prank calls to high ranking officials and celebrities in the past. Despite Schiff denying claims he fell for the prank, the recorded audio on the call tells a different story. Two Russian pranksters nicknamed Vovan and Lexus masquerading as a Ukrainian politician placed a call to a top Democrat of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff, alleging they were in possession of compromising material against President Donald Trump. The caller offered Schiff "Kompromat" (compromising documents), gathered by two minor Russian celebrities on President Donald Trump’s visit to Moscow in 2013 that according to the caller included naked pictures of the President. The caller said that Russian President Vladimir Putin tried to use the Kompromat to coerce Trump into cancelling Russian sanctions. In April, … [Read more...] about Rep.
