NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — After several delays because of the pandemic, R&B singer R. Kelly will go on trial in New York this summer. A judge on Thursday gave federal prosecutors the green light to begin the process to move Kelly from Chicago, where he is being held, to New York City. Navalny Moved to Sick Ward as Fellow Inmates Hospitalized With Suspected Tuberculosis
Jailed Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny has been moved to a sick ward after complaining of a cough and temperature, the Izvestia newspaper reported Monday. Earlier Monday, Navalny said in an Instagram post that a third prisoner in his quarters had been sent to the hospital with suspected tuberculosis. In the post, Navalny said prison doctors had officially diagnosed him with a "severe cough" and a temperature of 38.1 degrees Celsius, which indicates a slight fever. Navalny, 44, President Vladimir Putin's most prominent critic, is currently incarcerated in Penal Colony No. 2, about 100 kilometers from Moscow, which is known as one of the toughest penitentiaries in Russia. Navalny said his prison unit consists of 15 people, three of whom have been hospitalized with suspected tuberculosis.
