President Joe Biden issued an executive order on “access to voting” on Sunday that instructs federal government agencies to promote voter registration, help Americans apply to vote by mail, and “combat misinformation,” among other measures. The “ Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting ” reads like a Democratic Party wish-list of “reforms” that enshrines many of the practices that were adopted on a temporary basis during the pandemic-affected 2020 election. Joe Manchin Calls for ‘New Era of Bipartisanship’ After Georgia Runoffs
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), one of the only moderate-to-conservative members of the Senate Democrat conference, is urging his colleagues to view their victories in the Georgia runoffs as an opportunity for a “new era of bipartisanship.” “With tight margins in the House and Senate, Democrats and Republicans are faced with a decision to either work together to put the priorities of our nation before partisan politics or double down on the dysfunctional tribalism,” Manchin said in a statement released to the press Wednesday.
