Texas Tech, meanwhile, has lost seven of its past 10 games, but is still considered one of the stronger teams nationally thanks to the ninth-best RPI.All things considered, in a year when perception may be skewed, one point remains … [Read more...] about Is another postseason run on the horizon for Big 12 baseball?

By Jimmie Tramel • Tulsa WorldTAHLEQUAH — Ericka Downey, a 33-year-old mother of two from Tahlequah, is donating a kidney to someone she had never met until a week and a half ago. ¶ That someone is Billy Gillispie, a former University of Tulsa assistant basketball coach who was diagnosed with kidney failure near the end of last year. ¶ Downey met Gillispie for the first time at the Final Four. The meeting was emotional and “kind of surreal,” according to Downey. ¶ Sports story? It’s really a people story, and it begs this question: Who offers to give a kidney to someone they hardly know? Who does that? ¶ “I don’t know,” Downey said during a recent interview in Tulsa. “I mean, I’m not the first to donate an organ, so there have got to be a lot of people out there that have done it.
