An Illinois woman was arrested after pouring boiling water on her boyfriend while he slept and then bragged about giving him severe burns on Snapchat, officials reported. Alexis Sykes, 22, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery by caustic substance and two counts of aggravated domestic battery after dumping boiling water on her boyfriend at their suburban Chicago apartment in early January, according to the DuPage County District Attorney’s office. Auditions for the 2024 Republican nomination have begun — and several big names are trying out for the role of the future Donald Trump. There’s one problem, however. The former president may not be ready to cede the stage to an understudy. Trump will give the keynote speech Sunday afternoon at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which this year is being held in Orlando, Fla. The conference began in earnest on Friday. Reparations Activist Ta-Nehisi Coates Teaming With Producer J.J. Abrams on Warner Bros. ‘Superman’ Reboot
Warner Bros. is reportedly prepping another reboot of DC comics’ Superman , this time with slavery reparations advocate, author, and Marvel comic book writer Ta-Nehisi Coates teaming with powerhouse producer J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company for the feature film, Deadline reports . Coates, who has a throng of radical, left-wing articles to his name, has been hired to write the latest entry in the Superman saga, while Abrams will produce. No stars or directors have been announced, nor have any story details emerged, according to Deadline. Henry Cavill, who’s helmed the role and the red cape since 2013’s Man of Steel , has expressed his eagerness to star as Superman in another feature.
