Lorraine Swanson , Patch Staff Posted | Updated Reply CHICAGO — Updated — The Chicago Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will be escorting Officer Danny Golden home this Friday, Aug. 19, from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab . Golden was left partially paralyzed after he was shot trying to break up a fight at a Beverly bar when he was off-duty. He has been undergoing rehab. Chicagoans are being asked to line the streets in a show of support for the hometown hero. Large crowds are anticipated in the Bridgeport and Canaryville area, as well as the Morgan Park, Beverly and Mount Greenwood.
