The last widespread amnesty, signed by former President Ronald Reagan in 1986, invited a surge of immigration to the United States, allowed terrorists to stay in the country, and inflated fraud, according to a new study. This month, President Joe Biden unveiled the details of his amnesty plan which would legalize the roughly 11 million to 22 million illegal aliens currently in the U.S., fly deported illegal aliens back to the country to receive amnesty, and increase legal immigration levels, among other things. A study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) suggests Biden’s amnesty would result in the same issues past amnesties have spurred: Increasing immigration, displacing American workers, and adding to national security concerns. “You don’t need to be Albert Einstein to figure out that the massive amnesty the Biden administration is proposing will not produce any results other than those we have seen with past amnesties—only exponentially larger and … [Read more...] about Study: 1986 Amnesty Invited a Surge of Immigration, Terrorism, Fraud

Gallup Shows Rising Opposition to Immigration
Seven-out-of-ten Republicans favor reduced illegal and legal immigration, and GOP voters are evenly split over whether immigration is good or bad for the nation, according to a new Gallup poll. “Republicans’ Desire for Less Immigration Has Surged Since 2020 … The mounting desire for decreased immigration in recent years has been driven mainly by Republicans, whose preference for reducing immigration is [at 69 percent,] up 21 points since June 2020, when 48% expressed this,” Gallup reported on August 8 . Opposition to migration has nudged up among Democrats and independents, said the survey, which showed “a five-point increase among independents, to 33%, and a four-point increase among Democrats, to 17%.” The GOP’s growing skepticism about migration reflects the growing polarization since 2o12 when a growing share of “woke” Democrats began to embrace migration. Gallup reported: In 2008, at the end of the George W. Bush administration, 46% of Republicans and 39% of … [Read more...] about Gallup Shows Rising Opposition to Immigration
Kathy Hochul Seeks ‘Federal Solution’ to Illegal Immigration Problem in NY
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is apparently hoping for a federal solution to the illegal immigration problem in New York, despite the state’s Democrat officials touting the “sanctuary” status of their state as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) busses illegal immigrants to New York City. Hochul has wholly ignored the issues caused by her state’s immigration policies, including the “Green Light law,” which allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses. Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), a GOP gubernatorial candidate, is among those who have called on New York to take action and cease “incentivizing” illegal entry. “I’m not here to pass blame on a Democrat or Republican policy,” Hochul said . “This cries out for a federal response.” “I’m not sure they are coming into Texas because of what we’re doing here in New York,” the Democrat told reporters. “This cries out for a federal solution. Democrat, Republican we have to get this together.” The Democrat’s remarks coincide with the Texas … [Read more...] about Kathy Hochul Seeks ‘Federal Solution’ to Illegal Immigration Problem in NY

NeverTrump Author Laments Shortage of Immigrant Servant Class
The government should import more migrants because comfortable people are losing their cheap imported maids, janitors, cooks, drivers, and stoop labor, according to Mona Charen, policy editor of TheBulwark.com, a NeverTrump website. Charen’s August 3 handwringing begins : Postcards from the great American labor shortage: A couple arrives at the Seattle airport after a 5-hour flight and stands in line at the car rental desk. It quickly becomes clear that something is wrong. The line snakes through the garage. People are angry … There aren’t enough employees on hand to vacuum, wash, fuel, and process the cars. A couple has been driving for several hours and requires a bathroom stop. They pull into a Burger King. The doors are locked. The only service is at the drive through. Why? Lack of employees. Perhaps you’ve stayed in a hotel recently? Maid service and room service are scarce. If hotels offer these services at all, they are available only upon request. About 25 … [Read more...] about NeverTrump Author Laments Shortage of Immigrant Servant Class
Ron Kovach: Biden’s Open Border Is Inhumane for Migrants and Americans
It’s official – the Biden administration has set a record for the most border encounters in a fiscal year. The kicker? There are still months to go for this number to go well beyond the two million illegal aliens who have already been encountered, and in many instances, released into the country. The controversy surrounding this historic border crisis has created a national debate pitting the worlds of those who would like to enhance the ease of access into our country against those who would like to see a more regimented, lawful system. As this war of ideologies continues, the quality of life for people on both sides of the border deteriorates and our country becomes more fractured. The only product we have seen from this philosophical battle is a national stalemate in the determination of how migration should be handled, how the border should be secured, and how our immigration system should be governed. The narrative from the Biden world is one of implausible denial – that … [Read more...] about Ron Kovach: Biden’s Open Border Is Inhumane for Migrants and Americans
EXCLUSIVE: Mexican Immigration Officers Caught Taking Bribes at Tijuana Airport
Mexican immigration officers have a long history of demanding bribes at international airports and ports of entry in exchange for bypassing laws and processes that would have kept prohibited persons from entering the country. Breitbart Texas was able to obtain internal affairs reports from Mexico’s National Immigration Institute which detail investigations into multiple corrupt officers. Law enforcement sources within Mexico’s INM revealed that in most of the cases when corrupt officers are discovered, they are not disciplined, prosecuted, or fired, but simply relocated to another assignment. In one report, INM officials investigated officer Francisco Javier Hernandez Varela who had been stationed at the Tijuana Cross Border Terminal of the International Airport. The investigation into Hernandez Varela involved him and other officers allowing individuals without travel documents to enter the country and him not entering the traveler’s information in a national immigration … [Read more...] about EXCLUSIVE: Mexican Immigration Officers Caught Taking Bribes at Tijuana Airport
Biden’s Deputies Open Route Around Panama Jungles for Migrants
President Joe Biden’s border chief has opened a new route for the global migrants seeking jobs and housing in the United States. The faster route uses boats to carry roughly 1,500 migrants per day from ports in Columbia around the deadly Darien Gap trail and up to ports in Panama, according to Todd Bensman, a former intelligence official who now works with the Center for Immigration Studies. Bandits, floods, exhaustion, and accidents have killed thousands of global migrants on the Darien Gap trail as they walked through Panama’s jungles and mountains towards Biden’s welcome, said Bensman. But the new boat-and-bus route will not prevent the death of many migrants as they travel from South America, the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East to the United States, he said. The best way to save lives is to persuade would-be economic migrants to stay at or near home, he said. “You can pretty much guarantee you’re saving lives and victimization if they’re staying … [Read more...] about Biden’s Deputies Open Route Around Panama Jungles for Migrants
Court Rules Illegal Immigrant Teenager Can Get An Abortion
A U.S. federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that an illegal immigrant minor can get an abortion after weeks of back and forth in state and federal courts, Politico reports. In a 6-3 ruling, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned its Friday decision to put a hold on the case until Oct. 31, and ruled that the illegal immigrant must be taken to an abortion clinic rather than a crisis pregnancy center, according to Politico . The girl, who crossed the border illegally on Sept. 7 and is 15 weeks pregnant, will no longer have to voluntary depart the U.S. for an abortion, as the judge’s decision means that the United States will provide the service for her. It is not yet evident whether the abortion will be free of cost or not. This decision comes after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed an emergency petition on Sunday asking the court to reconsider delaying its Friday decision to postpone a final ruling on the pregnant illegal immigrant’s case, according to USA … [Read more...] about Court Rules Illegal Immigrant Teenager Can Get An Abortion
