Zach Osterman Indianapolis Star Published 11:19 AM EST Jan 3, 2019 BLOOMINGTON – IU’s basketball season will emerge from its winter slumber at something close to 100 mph Thursday, to resume a Big Ten season bound to test the Hoosiers in the coming weeks. Illinois’ visit to Assembly Hall will be one of just three games Indiana (11-2, 2-0) plays at home this month, with six of the Hoosiers’ next eight after Thursday on the road. Coach Archie Miller’s team returns to conference play in good shape, if not quite good health. IU is ranked in both polls, holds five KenPom top-50 wins and is nestled at No. 21 in the NCAA’s own NET rankings. Closer to home, there appear to remain nagging doubts in the minds of some fans, begging a basic question: Is it safe to believe in this team yet? On current evidence, the answer ought to be a comfortable … [Read more...] about IU basketball has earned right to confidence heading into Big Ten play
