SAN FRANCISCO (AP/CBS13) — A new California data warehouse system unveiled Wednesday should help policymakers better understand and address the issue of homelessness in a state that has the most unhoused people in the country, officials said. This is the first time the information has been collected at a state level, according to the state’s homeless coordinating and financing council. The announcement comes two months after a state audit that criticized California for an approach so fragmented and incomplete as to possibly hinder efforts to get people into stable housing. MODESTO (CBS13) – A steady income and a roof over their heads are the two things most everyone can appreciate in their day-to-day lives – but not everyone is so fortunate. Now, a new partnership in Modesto hopes to bring that to the homeless community and change the conversation on how people help. NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) – As wildfires get larger and deadlier, one local school district is on the frontlines clearing danger away from classrooms. In Nevada County, the place where kids go to learn is also surrounded by some of the most dangerous fire risks in the state. Sacramento Mom On Mission To Find Daughter Sarayah Redmond’s Killer
NATOMAS (CBS13) – A grieving mom is on a mission to find her daughter’s killer. Six months after 19-year-old Sarayah Redmond was shot and killed in a Natomas apartment, there has still not been any arrest.
