According to a report published at far-left NBC News, American college enrollment has plummeted over the last ten years. “There are 4 million fewer students in college now than there were 10 years ago ,” the report tells us. And this cannot be blamed on the China Flu or an overheated job market : But while the pandemic certainly made things worse, the downturn took hold well before it started. Demographics alone cannot explain the scale of this drop. And statistics belie the argument that recent high school graduates are getting jobs instead of going to college: Workforce participation for 16- to 24-year-olds is lower than it was before Covid hit, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or BLS, reports. Focus groups and public opinion surveys point to other, less easily solved reasons for the sharp downward trend. These include widespread and fast-growing skepticism about the value of a degree, impatience with the time it takes to get one, and costs that have finally exceeded … [Read more...] about Nolte: American College Enrollment Plummets

Creighton students’ COVID vaccine mandate appeal dismissed
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal by a handful of Creighton University students who sought to be exempt from the private Catholic school’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate last year, arguing that getting the shots would violate their religious beliefs against abortion. The state’s high court said it didn’t have jurisdiction, citing its 150-year stance that people can't appeal orders denying or granting temporary injunctions. In this case, a judge last year declined to issue a temporary injunction that would have blocked Creighton University’s requirement that all students get the COVID-19 vaccination. “Because the court’s denial of a temporary injunction was not a final order, we lack jurisdiction of the appeal and must dismiss it,” Justice William Cassel wrote for the court. The 10 students who sought the injunction said they had religious objections to the vaccines because they "were developed and/or tested using abortion derived fetal … [Read more...] about Creighton students’ COVID vaccine mandate appeal dismissed

0 Real Estate The fair market rent for a two-bedroom rental increased from the previous year. Local Data , Patch Staff Posted Reply SANTEE, CA — Home prices in the United States have risen dramatically in large swaths of the country, but the same can't be said for all rentals. Nicki Minaj’s New Song Is Awful. Where Does She Go From Here?
Nicki Minaj has had a really, really hard few weeks. No, I’m not talking about her former assistant’s accusations that Minaj had committed tax fraud, and that her husband, Kenneth Petty, was continuing a well-documented pattern of abuse by harassing her female staff members. I’m talking about the daunting, terrifying, and formidable undertaking of having to rename her new single. “What should the name of #FreakyGirl be y’all? Yep we have to change it,” she tweeted in the sweltering final hours of July. Until then, Minaj had repeatedly teased the song as “Freaky Girl” on her socials, to the tune of millions of views and excitement from the Barbz over her imminent return. But, at the last minute, her team had run into an unexplained legal wall over the song title. Minaj didn’t say whether the name change had anything to do with the song’s sample of the Rick James classic “Super Freak,” just that she was offering three new options for fans to vote on: “He Want A Freaky Girl,” … [Read more...] about Nicki Minaj’s New Song Is Awful.
