Though the Chicago White Sox won’t officially change the name of their stadium to Guaranteed Rate Field until Nov. 1, some fans couldn’t wait to voice their displeasure over the team’s decision on social media. How did you get into the mortgage business? I like change. I like seeing different things every day. I originally wanted to be a stock broker or something like that, but this is pretty close. I’ve been fascinated by real estate forever and I’m a numbers individual with a finance background and an MBA. So it was going to be something with numbers for me. My dad was a railroad accountant for years and I’m a little different. I’m a little more aggressive and sales-y than he is, so to speak. So it’s definitely the right fit. I figured out in my late 20s that I wanted to do this for sure. It took a little while to figure it out. But I enjoy it every day. It’s something new and something challenging. Guaranteed Rate is known for its digital mortgages. What makes that different from anything else? We can give you an automated approval right over the internet. So someone can fill out our digital application within 10 or 15 minutes, or however long it … [Read more...] about Q&A with Jason Bialek, vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate in Roanoke
