(CNN)"I don't want to be a flat earther," David Weiss says, his voice weary as he reflects on his personal awakening. "Would you wake up in the morning and want everyone to think you're an idiot?" But Weiss is a flat earther. Ever since he tried and failed to find proof of the earth's curve four years ago, he's believed with an evident passion that our planet is both flat and stationary -- and it's turned his world upside down. "I absolutely freaked out," Weiss tells CNN in a phone interview. "It literally whips the rug out from underneath you." Now, Weiss finds it tedious to associate with the majority of people -- though he "unfortunately" still has some friends who believe in a round earth. "I have no problem with anybody that wants to believe we live on a ball. That's their choice," he says. "It's just not something I resonate with." Weiss' preferred community is those who share his life-altering belief. Read More And that community is vast. This week, the businessman … [Read more...] about The flat earth conspiracy is spreading around the globe. Does it hide a darker core?

Howdy, I’m your host, Houston Mitchell. Talk of that UCLA football resurgence may have been premature.UCLA FOOTBALLRemember when UCLA won three games in a row, and fans thought maybe the program had turned a corner? Remember when Bruins fans were excited that the team could reach the Rose Bowl game? Remember when Bruins fans thought, while it would be tough to beat Utah, it was certainly possible, and seemed almost likely after the offense began clicking the last three weeks? Remember all of that? Keep that memory, because here is what happened Saturday:Utah 49, UCLA 3. Advertisement That’s not a misprint. Let me run that again for you: Utah 49, UCLA 3. To paraphrase Harry Doyle in “Major League,” “That’s all we got, three lousy points?”UCLA (4-6 overall, 4-3 Pac-12) had won three consecutive games against average-to-good teams but did not stack up against one of the nation’s best. Now the Bruins’ margin for error in reaching a … [Read more...] about The Sports Report: UCLA tries to cash in, gets reality check instead
Was this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live season finale the last time we’ll see Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump? The parody of The Sopranos, which like the series finale of that show ended in a hard cut to black, would be a fitting end to Baldwin’s Emmy Award-winning run as Trump. The implication was that the president got “whacked” by Robert De Niro’s Robert Mueller, a fate that could well befall the real president before SNL returns for its 44th season this fall. During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Friday morning, Baldwin officially replied “no comment” when presented with the rumors that he might be done. But pressed to go further than that, he seemed to admit that it could be the case. “It does crash every weekend you have with your kids,” Baldwin, who has four young children with wife Hilaria, said. “I enjoy doing it, but what’s going to happen in the future? I don't know where I’m … [Read more...] about Alec Baldwin: SNL Should Get Someone Else to Play Trump
