A former Chancellor of West Germany, Berlin senators, bureaucrats, and members of the educational establishment have all been implicated in a network “in which paedophile positions were accepted, supported, and defended”, according to a report into the placement of homeless children with known paedophile foster parents by the German government. For over a year, researchers at the University of Hildesheim have undertaken the examination of thousands of files in the Senate Education Administration in Berlin. The 57-page report, which was published this week, found that a “network of actors in the Senate administration and institutions of educational reforms during the home reform of the 1970s tolerated the establishment of shared apartments and foster homes for paedophile men”. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has lashed out at the German government claiming that the migrant policies of Chancellor Angela Merkel have made Germany a haven for terrorists. At an event in Ankara, President Erdoğan claimed that Germany was aiding and supporting known terrorist groups. The controversial president, who has systematically consolidated his power in the wake of the failed coup in July, said that Germany was harbouring members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), reports Zeit Online . “Germany has become an important port for terrorists,” said Erdoğan. A man in Teaneck, New Jersey, is telling the story of how his German shepherd rescue dog saved his life in a moment of distress.When 59-year-old Brian Myers suffered a stroke on January 16 and fell on his bedroom floor, his dog, Sadie, immediately took action and helped him get to his phone, according to ABC 7. The six-year-old German shepherd jumped off the bed, laid down next to her master, and would not leave him alone as she repeatedly licked his face. Myers said he grabbed Sadie’s collar to use as a counterweight and get up off the floor, and somehow she knew to help by “pulling her body weight and pulling me enough to give me the momentum to get myself out of the corner that I was stuck in.” Prior to the rescue, Myers adopted Sadie from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge located in Oakland. “We had developed a strong bond,” he said of the day they met. CCTV prompted a similar backlash in 2018 when airing a comedy sketch featuring a Chinese actress in blackface pretending to be an African woman who loved Chinese people. On that occasion, the actress accessorized her brown body paint with artificially enlarged buttocks and a plate of fruit on her head.
