The same Washington establishment that championed the Common Core standards and encouraged more federal involvement in education has endorsed a civics initiative that seeks to indoctrinate K-12 students into woke “action” political organizing, under the guise of restoring “unity.” In an op-ed Monday in the Wall Street Journal , six former U.S. education secretaries, three Democrats and three Republicans, endorsed a civics initiative that, they claim, will help instill in American students an understanding of U.S. History that is “complete and honest.” Stanley Kurtz, senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, who extensively investigated the Common Core standards and the revised Advanced Placement U.S. History curriculum, wrote at National Review, the “Educating for American Democracy” (EAD) initiative is essentially “dominated by the woke Left, with a sprinkling of conservatives designed to create the illusion of bipartisanship.” Kurtz said the adoption … [Read more...] about Woke K-12 ‘Action Civics’ Initiative Called ‘GOP Suicide’

In America, women are frontliners of change
They say that “Behind every successful man, there is a strong woman.” They’re wrong. The truth is, behind any successful community — any successful people, or any successful nation — there are countless unheralded and unnamed strong women. All of us have witnessed women standing in the gap and on the front lines, molding and shaping the moments of our lives. As Women’s History Month unfolds, we should pause to consider how women in America have helped to shape our history, individually and as a nation. I think about my grandmothers. Despite their constant struggles, they managed to raise their own children, their grandchildren — and other people’s children. ADVERTISEMENT My grandmothers were frontliners of change. I think about my mother working two jobs for most of my childhood, never letting us see her worry about … [Read more...] about In America, women are frontliners of change

The late Rush Limbaugh, who passed away last month, famously honored Andrew Breitbart on the day of his passing, March 1, 2012. Professor William Jacobson of the Legal Insurrection blog noted Rush’s tribute Monday, on the ninth anniversary of Breitbart’s death. Video and transcript, via American Rhetoric , follow: A few words about Andrew Breitbart. I’ve known Andrew Breitbart since the 1990s when he was working with Matt Drudge to help produce that page, the Drudge Report, each and every day. He grew up in West Los Angeles, surrounded by liberals, father-in-law Orson Bean, the comedian. Sometime during the 1990s, the early 90s, Breitbart had an awakening. He was constantly questioning what was all around him, which was really extreme liberalism, and he became, as many of you in the audience know, a bulldog. He literally was an indefatigable bulldog for the conservative cause. He did things that nobody else has done on the Internet where there are a lot of players. He … [Read more...] about WATCH: Rush Limbaugh Honors Andrew Breitbart — March 1, 2012
