Pueblo County sheriff’s deputies shot and seriously wounded a woman and killed her male passenger Sunday after she drove toward a deputy following a lengthy high-speed chase that began in Fremont County, officials said. The name of the wounded woman and the dead man have not been released. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries, according to a news release Monday by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office. A chase involving the woman and a Fremont County sheriff’s deputy began Sunday night after the woman rammed the deputy’s patrol car and nearly struck a Canon City police car while driving recklessly at high speed on eastbound U.S. Highway 50, the news release said.
