HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf said Tuesday that teachers will receive doses of the newly approved one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, under a plan his administration will release. In a news conference on a separate topic, Wolf said his administration’s plan will be released Wednesday. He gave few details but said he and a bipartisan legislative task force agreed that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine should be set aside for teachers and then other workers considered to be essential, but who are not included in the first vaccination phase. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — On Monday, a judge released retired Chester firefighter Robert Sanford from jail following his alleged role in the Capitol riots. The judge placed Sanford on house arrest. WOODLAND (CBS13) — The Yolo County district attorney is raising concerns over the zero bail policy. The plan was adopted last year to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks inside jails.  It has allowed many who were arrested to be released without bail. Almost 200 people released have been rearrested, the district attorney’s office said. Yolo County’s Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney Melinda Aiello says the DA’s office would like to see an end to zero bail or some form of risk assessment to better protect the public, especially victims while getting people arrested the help they may need. He overheard a conversation; Jenny DePaul was inviting people on a trip while doing outreach. “I said, ‘Would you mind if I go?’ She said, ‘Of course not, I would love to have you with us,'” Veal told CBS2’s Lisa Rozner. DePaul personally drove Veal and a few others from Newark to the Kindness Closet in Rockaway, started through her nonprofit Project Kind. At the closet, they could choose whatever they needed most.
