REDLANDS (CBSLA) — For the first time in nearly a year, high school football players are getting ready for a game at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands. The Blackhawks are preparing for a game against Redlands East Valley on March 19, the first game the team has been able to schedule for the 2020-21 school year. San Bernardino County, where the school is located, finally reached the necessary drop in COVID-19 cases to allow outdoor contact sports to resume. (CNN) When your career highs come around only once every four years, the prospect of putting your aspirations on hold can be difficult to stomach. It's a reality that all athletes hopeful of competing at the Olympics were faced with last year when, for the first time ever, the Games were postponed. "It was hard to absorb, and it still is. It's felt like we've been sitting in a purgatory for a whole year now," says Sandi Morris, a US pole vault silver medalist from the 2016 Rio Olympics. Almost 12 months on from the postponement of Tokyo 2020, a new goal is now in sight. Vice President Harris on Monday pushed for Congress to provide aid to cities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic by passing the administration’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package. “This plan includes critical support for those communities that have been hardest hit, keeping small businesses open and first responders on the job,” she said during her virtual keynote address at CityLab. Facundo Campazzo and Markus Howard have both been added to the Nuggets’ injury report as part of the NBA’s contact tracing, a league source told The Denver Post. As such, both are likely out through the All-Star break. Campazzo is doubtful for Monday’s game vs. Chicago and Howard was ruled out earlier due to the league’s health and safety protocols and according to the team’s injury report. Nuggets rookie R.J. Hampton entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol on Sunday. The Nuggets can appeal the decision on Campazzo, though it’s highly unlikely he’ll play against the Bulls.
