Consumers Energy Co. is still investigating the fire that broke out Wednesday morning at the natural gas facility at the Ray Township Compression Station in Macomb County, but officials believe the fire started outside of compression plant No. 3, the newest and largest of the three buildings on the site, said Garrick Rochow, the company's senior vice president of operations.While investigators have ruled out foul play, Rochow said it is still too early to state a cause of the fire or develop a complete list of lessons learned or possible changes in operations for the Jackson-based utility."We appreciate businesses responding to our call for action. Displaced by Lilac Fire, horses return to training center four months later
More than four months after the Lilac Fire raced through Bonsall and into the San Luis Rey Downs Training Center, the thoroughbred horses that were evacuated to the Del Mar Fairgrounds are retuning home.By the end of this weekend, all or almost all of the 410 horses that have been stabled and trained at the race track facility since the Dec. 7 fire will have been brought back to new, temporary stables, or to refurbished older stables that withstood the blaze.Forty-six thoroughbreds were killed in the fire after many were released from their barns to fend for themselves as the wind-driven flames overwhelmed the facility. The Orlando Magic got out of the gate first in the NBA coaching derby Thursday morning, becoming the first team to fire its coach.The Magic fired Frank Vogel, who lost 67 percent of his games in two seasons.Orlando will open next season with a new coach for the fourth time in five seasons: Jacque Vaughn in 2014, Scott Skiles in 2015, Frank Vogel in 2016 and TBA in 2018. Trump insists that if he wanted to fire Mueller, it would be done
WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Donald Trump said Thursday that if he wanted to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, he would have months ago. "If I wanted to fire Robert Mueller in December, as reported by the Failing New York Times, I would have fired him. Just more Fake News from a biased newspaper," Trump tweeted Thursday morning. Trump was disputing a New York Times report published Tuesday that said the President sought to fire Mueller in December following reports that Mueller was seeking Trump's financial records. CNN has also reported that Trump has wanted to fire Mueller for months.
