The Big 12 men’s basketball standings show just one team in first place: Kansas. The Jayhawks won 71-66 at West Virginia on Monday night and broke a four-way tie for the top spot in the Big 12 Conference. KU is attempting to win a 14th straight conference title, and here is what people who cover college basketball are saying about the Jayhawks’ chances: ▪ Kyle Boone of CBS Sports wrote: “So after a rocky 1-1 start in conference play that saw Kansas fall at home to Texas Tech, it’s the Jayhawks — better known as winners of 13 consecutive Big 12 titles — who sit alone atop the Big 12 standings after breaking the four-way tie shared among Oklahoma, Texas Tech and West Virginia entering Monday. “And once again, like clockwork, it’s Kansas that appears to be the team to beat in the Big 12.” ▪ Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports wrote: “Kansas is unusually flawed, a good yet hardly dominant team with no surefire … [Read more...] about ‘Same as it ever was.’ What experts are saying about KU’s chances to win Big 12

Kinder Morgan (NYSE: KMI) is coming off a down year after its stock dropped 12.7% in 2017. That slump happened even though the company's earnings were right on target through the first three quarters, putting it on pace to hit its full-year guidance. We'll know for sure if the company hit that mark later this week when it posts fourth-quarter and full-year results. In addition to officially closing the book on 2017, that report could also be a major catalyst for the stock, with the following three things potentially fueling a big move this week. Image source: Getty Images. 1. Expectation-beating results would prove it's heading in the right direction Through the third quarter, Kinder Morgan had generated $3.3 billion, or $1.47 per share, of distributable cash flow (DCF), which is money it could pay out to shareholders. Considering that those results put the pipeline giant on pace to hit its full-year guidance, it implies the company should produce roughly $1.54 billion, or … [Read more...] about These 3 Things Could Fuel a Big Move in Kinder Morgan’s Stock This Week
A look at things to watch this week in the Pac-12 Conference: GAME OF THE WEEK: Oregon at No. 17 Arizona, Saturday. The Ducks made it to the Final Four a year ago. The Wildcats are hoping to get there this season. Arizona (12-4, 3-1 Pac-12) opened its mountain swing last weekend with a solid win over Utah, but followed that up with an 80-77 loss at Colorado. Coach Sean Miller said after the game he has a hard time reaching the players on this year's team, admonishing their inability to play hard consistently. Expect the Wildcats to play hard against Oregon (11-5, 1-2), which has lost two of three Pac-12 games after a strong nonconference run. LOOKING AHEAD: Colorado had lost five of six, including its first two Pac-12 games, before pulling off a pair of upsets last weekend. The Buffaloes (10-6, 2-2) knocked off No. 4 Arizona State 90-81 on Thursday, leading to a court-storming by the students, then took down Arizona. Now it's time to see how they respond with a pair of difficult games … [Read more...] about Oregon at No. 17 Arizona tops the Pac-12 this week
Khloe Kardashian’s pregnancy will officially be announced in this week’s episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” In the teaser released by E! the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan became a tad bit emotional upon hearing Kardashian’s pregnancy confirmation. All of the greatest streaks eventually come to an end.By the looks of the Big 12 this season, Kansas' epic 13-season streak of consecutive conference regular-season titles could be in serious jeopardy. That's not just because the Jayhawks are vulnerable (they are). It has much more to do with how solid the league's top-tier teams — No. 5 West Virginia, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 15 TCU, No. 18 Texas Tech — appear to be.That and the Big 12 isn't just top heavy. The conference is as deep as it's been. Outside of Iowa State, no team is an easy out, and the Jayhawks usually struggle on the road against the Cyclones. Nine of 10 teams have NCAA tournament potential. MORE: What I'm watching this weekend in college basketball Coach Bill Self told USA TODAY Sports before the start of the 2017-18 season that there's always "subtle pressure" each season not to be the Kansas team that fails to extend the record streak.
