Media: Sports Illustrated LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 71-year-old man driving a Ferrari in Los Angeles was killed in a rollover crash that also involved professional golfer Bill Haas and actor Luke Wilson. Hass was a passenger in the Ferrari and escaped serious injury while Wilson, who was driving a car clipped by the Ferrari, was not injured, officials said Wednesday. The accident happened on a residential block in the wealthy Pacific Palisades neighborhood around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Los Angeles police Officer James Stoughton. Texas-born actor Luke Wilson did not sustain serious injuries after being involved in a fatal car crash Tuesday night in Pacific Palisades, California, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Times reported that pro golfer winner Bill Haas was in a Ferrari as a passenger when the car overturned and killed the driver. Haas is in serious condition after the crash, the Times reports. Wilson was in one of the three cars involved in the crash and came to the aid of those involved, according to a witness’ Twitter post cited in the Times’ article. Pro golfer Bill Haas was injured in a fatal car crash Tuesday night in Pacific Palisades, Calif.The PGA Tour and Haas' manager, Allen Hobbs, confirmed in a statement Wednesday morning that Haas, 35, was a passenger in the car that was involved in the accident. According to the statement, Haas avoided serious injuries and was planning to return to his home in Greenville, S.C., after his release from the hospital. A letter in the Journal of the American Medical Association examined a trend of fatal roadway crashes on April 20 because of the risk that comes with driving while impaired.
