WASHINGTON (AP) -- The first set of U.S. sanctions against Iran that had been eased under the landmark nuclear accord went back into effect early Tuesday under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, targeting financial transactions that involve U.S. dollars, Iran's automotive sector, the purchase of commercial planes and metals including gold. U.S sanctions targeting Iran's oil sector and central bank are to be reimposed in early November. Executive orders signed by trump
President Trump has signed 77 executive orders since taking office in 2017, according to tracking provided by the American Presidency Project. Trump signed 63 executive orders from January 2017 through March 20, 2018 and an additional 14 from March 21 through June 20, the tracker shows. The executive orders cover everything from improving mental health treatment for veterans to stopping the practice of separating immigrant parents and children at the U.S. border. Executive orders are official legally binding mandates from the president. Executive memoranda are essentially the same, except they do not have an established process on how they are issued. Rachel Leingang Arizona Republic Published 8:58 p.m. UTC Jul 20, 2018 Gov. Doug Ducey clarified Friday that legislative immunity does not mean lawmakers can't get speeding tickets. An executive order signed by the governor says officers should consider any criminal violations, including criminal speeding, reckless driving and driving under the influence, as a "breach of the peace," and thus subject to citation. "It is clear in some recent cases that the peace has been breached, and we have a responsibility to enforce the law in these cases," the executive order states. The order comes after Rep. Paul Mosley came under fire for claiming legislative immunity, a constitutional provision, to avoid a ticket for speeding 97 mph in a 55 mph zone. In a body camera video, Mosley, a Republican from Lake Havasu City, bragged about driving as fast as 140 mph. Mosley has been pulled over by the Arizona Department of Public Safety multiple times since taking office … [Read more...] about Ducey signs executive order saying Arizona lawmakers can get speeding tickets
