British authorities say they have rescued a child who was targeted in a disturbing international organ-harvesting plot. A man and a woman have been charged with conspiracy over a plan to bring the child to the U.K. in order to harvest their organs, London’s Metropolitan Police announced Thursday. No details were immediately available on the age and gender of the child. Nigerian nationals Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, will stand trial for conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel of another person “with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting,” police said in a statement. Both defendants are set to appear in court in west London on Thursday. The horrific allegations come after an investigation by the Specialist Crime team at Scotland Yard, which deals with serious offenses in the English capital. Local Data , Patch Staff Posted Reply QUINCY, MA — The housing market typically cools off during the fall and winter, but experts predict that it will stay hot the rest of the year. Demand is still strong, but the number of homes on the market is still low in most parts of the country, said Daryl Fairweather, chief economist at Redfin, a national real estate brokerage. Home prices are expected to keep rising nationally as a result, although at a much slower rate.
