A potential problem for 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday night against the Packers? He might not have a pass-catcher on the field with more than 19 catches through the season’s first 10 games. Such a scenario is probably unlikely, but head coach Kyle Shanahan said it was a possibility when he told reporters tight end George Kittle (ankle, knee) and wide receivers Deebo Samuel (shoulder) and Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) wouldn’t be able to practice Wednesday. Shanahan said each player would be a game-time decision for Sunday and suggested the evening kickoff could increase their odds of playing. “I’m glad we’ve got four more hours for Kittle, Deebo and Emmanuel to rest and recover,” he said. Kittle has missed the past two games and has watched each from a suite at Levi’s Stadium to avoid standing on his injured leg for more than three hours. Shanahan indicated Kittle’s gradual improvement didn’t mean his return was imminent. … [Read more...] about 49ers’ Shanahan: Kittle, Sanders and Samuel will be game-time calls

The Ravens will close Week 12 when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Rams next Monday night. The New England Patriots (9-1) received the other two first-place votes for 372 points to stay in the No. 2 … [Read more...] about Ravens, Patriots, 49ers remain top 3 teams in AP Pro32 poll

By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — In case you’re not into following publicity pitches from multi-billion dollar corporations, the NFL has spent this season celebrating its 100 years of existence. Sure, the football that was played way back in 1920 was not exactly the same sport that airs every Sunday in 2019, but a celebration is a celebration. And the NFL is celebrating. As such, they’ve spent the past few months counting down the “100 Greatest” players, moments and teams from the past 100 years. For those who love football, it’s been quite an enjoyable thing. The rankings themselves matter less than the footage and the stories and the highlights, as it’s always a welcome sight to see Barry Sanders leaving a trail of hapless Patriots in his wake on a random Saturday morning. That being said, this is America, where complaining is king. So, from a New England perspective, one can’t help but look at the … [Read more...] about NFL Picks ’72 Dolphins As Greatest Team Ever, Showing End Results Are All That Matters
