Some feminists are now facing the fact that Planned Parenthood, once a staunch champion for women’s rights, is currently one of the largest providers of transgender treatments in the United States, having become a leader in an industry that supports the elimination of the legal recognition of two sexes in favor of gender identity. Transgender industry author Abigail Shrier wrote this week of a conversation with a former Planned Parenthood employee who is apparently reconciling the fact that the abortion provider’s transgender political activism may ultimately undermine its existence. In her newsletter “The Truth Fairy,” Shrier, the author of Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters ,” told of her recent contact with an anonymous former Planned Parenthood employee who explained that while she was hesitant to be critical of the abortion provider, she had grown deeply disturbed the organization’s new high-profile role as a supplier of transgender … [Read more...] about Feminists Torn: Abortion Giant Planned Parenthood Now Major Player in Transgender Industry

Homicides in Denver soared last year to highest level since 1981 as communities navigate “state of normlessness”
Mark Hill took a break from watching cartoons with his kids one day last June to move his car. He never came back inside. The 35-year-old father of six was gunned down near his Denver home, just blocks from a popular strip of restaurants and bars in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood. He died on the street the day before Father’s Day and two days before he and his wife’s 15th anniversary. Seven months later, no arrest has been made in his case and Hill’s family is left wondering whether he was targeted or just a bystander caught in the gunfire. “My 3-year-old just doesn’t understand why he’s not here any more,” said his wife, Ambrosia Hamilton-Hill. Hill was one of the 95 people killed in homicides in Denver in 2020 — the highest number recorded in the city since 1981 , a 51% increase from the 63 recorded in 2019 and a sharp uptick from the numbers seen over the past decade. The historic homicide level combined with a staggering increase in non-fatal shootings meant … [Read more...] about Homicides in Denver soared last year to highest level since 1981 as communities navigate “state of normlessness”
Former Ohio GOP Chair Jane Timken Launches Senate Bid, Vows to ‘Fight for the Trump Agenda’
Former Ohio Republican Party chair Jane Timken announced Thursday she is running to replace retiring Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) in her state’s 2022 U.S. Senate race. Timken, who served as the state GOP chair for four years before stepping down in February, released a video statement about her candidacy in which she embraced former President Donald Trump’s America First agenda and bashed former Republican Gov. John Kasich — who spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2020 in favor of now-President Joe Biden — for refusing to support Trump in 2016 or 2020. “I’m running for the United States Senate to stand up for you, just like when I stood next to President Trump and supported his America First agenda that created jobs and brought manufacturing back to our shores,” Timken said. “As Ohio Republican Party chairman, I cleaned house of the Kasich establishment, who tried to elect Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden”: I’m running for the U.S. Senate to fight for the Trump agenda, stop … [Read more...] about Former Ohio GOP Chair Jane Timken Launches Senate Bid, Vows to ‘Fight for the Trump Agenda’
Republican Governor Candidate Pete Snyder Has a Plan for Virginia Schools: ‘Open Them Now’
Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Pete Snyder discussed reopening schools and saving small businesses as his state recovers from coronavirus lockdowns, providing his remarks on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday show with host Matthew Boyle. Snyder, a businessman vying for his state’s Republican nomination for governor to replace outgoing Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam in November, is making restoring in-person education in the Old Dominion a centerpiece of his campaign. Schools have been conducting their teaching either fully or partially virtually for close to a year in large part over the claim that coronavirus poses too much of a risk to teachers, a claim that contradicts the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “I have a very simple plan for our schools, which is open them. Open them now, five days a week, every single week, with a teacher in every classroom, period. That’s why we’re gonna win,” Snyder said, contending that Virginians are “angry” over the … [Read more...] about Republican Governor Candidate Pete Snyder Has a Plan for Virginia Schools: ‘Open Them Now’
House gears up for first GameStop stock hearing
A group of technology and financial industry executives will face a bipartisan firestorm Thursday during the first congressional hearing on the GameStop stock controversy. The leaders of major companies at the center of last month’s wild stock market volatility will find few allies on the House Financial Services Committee as members in both parties plan to hold their feet to fire. Executives from Robinhood, hedge fund Citadel, Melvin Capital and Reddit will seek to defend the heavily scrutinized ways they dealt with a surge in purchases of shares of GameStop and other struggling companies organized by an online community of traders. ADVERTISEMENT The GameStop frenzy raised serious questions about stock market regulation, the rise of retail trading websites and Wall Street transparency. The hearing may also lay the groundwork for further congressional investigations or attempts to impose tougher rules on hedge funds and trading platforms. But financial policy experts say … [Read more...] about House gears up for first GameStop stock hearing
