"He's a nerd. The highlight of his life is to play dungeons and dragons," the actress revealed to Giuliana Rancic. "He has a dungeon room downstairs." Plus, The Handmaid's Tale actress Yvonne Strahovski told us all about getting married this summer. Viral photo of vomit on the Emmys red carpet begs the question, ‘Whodunnit?’

Listen up, Mahershala Ali — the Emmys red carpet may have provided the next great mystery for "True Detective" Season 3: Who puked? While Sunday night's Emmys ceremony went off without a hitch, it didn't go off without a hurl. In a now-viral photo, Twitter user @allanmcatee revealed that someone was dealing with an upset stomach on the red carpet. "Somebody puked on the Emmys red carpet. This photo should win a pulitzer," the tweet read, along with a photo of the incriminating vomit surrounded by three men in suits. Many on Twitter were baffled as to how the up-chuck managed to go unnoticed until the tweet, while others had jokes. "It was whoever wrote spicer into the emmys," New Pornographers drummer Joe Seiders suggested, while another seemed to think it had to be one of the "Stranger Things" kids, for reasons unknown. While the true identity of the Emmys puker will likely remain a mystery, there are several candidates whose Sunday night behaviors could potentially add up to a discreet red carpet vomit. Ousted White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who made a surprise appearance during Stephen Colbert's opening segment, was spotted boozing it up as he posed for pictures with Hollywood elite. As anyone who was once a teenager knows, one too many beers will have you praying to the Porcelain Gods. But it's worth noting that Spicer's suds-soaked fun came after the ceremony, meaning he likely wasn't the puker. Jessica Biel, meanwhile, revealed that the air conditioning in her limousine broke en route to the show. Could she have been so overheated it got to her stomach? She did mention she was "never happier" than she was posing on the red carpet, so she's probably not the puker, either. "One Tree Hill" actress Hilarie Burton revealed she and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were expecting their second child while posing on the red carpet, but as the ceremony takes place at night, she Continue Reading

Laverne Cox agrees to appear on ‘Black-ish’ during Emmys red carpet conversation with Anthony Anderson

Orange is the new "Black-ish." Laverne Cox, 45, agreed to appear on an episode of "Black-ish" while she was being interviewed by the show's star, Anthony Anderson, on the red carpet Sunday. "Why have you not been on Black-ish yet?" Anderson asked Cox during E! Network's red carpet show after receiving the microphone from Giuliana Rancic. Cox, who plays Sophia Burset on "Orange is the New Black," made it clear she was interested — but said it wasn't her fault she hadn't been on the popular ABC show before. "I've not been invited, darling," she said. "I would gladly come." Anderson then officially offered her a guest-starring gig on a future episode, to which Cox replied, "I'll be there." In 2014, Cox became the first openly transgender person to receive a nomination for a Primetime Emmy in an acting category for her performance in the hit Netflix series "Orange is the New Black." She won a Daytime Emmy as the executive producer of the documentary "The T Word" in 2015, making her the first openly transgender woman to win an executive producer Emmy. Cox is up for best guest actress in a drama series this Sunday's show. "Black-ish" is up for best comedy series, and Anderson is up for best lead actor in a comedy series. Continue Reading

Daytime Emmys red carpet hosts deemed ‘appalling’ for rape joke

The Daytime Emmys red carpet correspondents caused quite a stir among viewers Sunday night with their ignorant and downright offensive comments. Brittany Furlan, Lauren Elizabeth, Jessica Harlow and Meghan Rosette were selected by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for being "millennials between the ages of 18-35, all ethnicities, who have a strong entertainment news background and/or very strong social media following (300,000 followers minimum)," as the Soap Opera Network previously reported. While the ladies may have a strong social media presence, their remarks concerning race and rape showed just how oblivious they were to not only entertainment news, but basic social etiquette. "(Furlan) literally came onto, and hard, every male in attendance, to a degree that makes E!'s Giuliana Rancic look positively demure," TVLine's Matt Mitovich wrote. The hosts offended viewers when they asked Lawrence Saint-Victor about being 'black on a soap opera these days,' and also told Ryan Paevey, 'We're going to get you away from us before we rape you.'  He added that Harlow called "The Bold and the Beautiful" star, Lawrence Saint-Victor, "a beautiful chocolate man" before asking him, "What's it like to be a black man on a soap opera these days?" Finally, Furlan stuck her foot in her mouth again when she told "General Hospital" actor Ryan Paevey, "We're going to get you away from us before we rape you." "Who on earth hired these 4 host for the Daytime Emmys Red Carpet?" @JosephKapsch asked on Twitter. "Talk about adding insult to the broadcast to web-only injury." @12BarAcidBlues posted a photo of Furlan and Elizabeth with the caption, "These two need to be banned from TV forever." Others commented on the "appalling job" they did on the carpet, while some blamed the Academy. "Hey #daytimeemmys maybe hire some red carpet 'hosts' w a little less black and rape jokes next year," Continue Reading

Zooey Deschanel, new boyfriend Jacob Pechenik debut as couple on Emmys red carpet

Zooey Deschanel was a new girl at Monday night's Emmys with her latest boyfriend in tow. The 34-year-old actress walked the red carpet with her film producer beau, Jacob Pechenik, weeks after her split from Jamie Linden, who she dated for two years. Deschanel and Pechenik seem to be getting along just fine as the pair were spotted in Los Angeles on Saturday packing on the PDA. In one pic, the "New Girl" star and Pechenik were passionately kissing as he rested his hand on her backside. She doesn't appear to like being a single lady. She hooked up with Linden in 2012 shortly after ending her three-year marriage to Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard. Continue Reading

MTV’S FASHION MOJO. Bring on the red-carpet divas as the VMAs kick off tonight from Radio City

'Emmy's with edge" is what stylists are predicting for tonight's MTV Video Music Awards. But fashion's wildest night - moved back here after two years in Miami - will make its mark, New York-style. "Expect the colors to be a bit darker and more subdued. The awards are, after all, back in NYC, where they belong, and black is our city color," said Neva Lindner of Wardrobe NYC, a company that lends designer clothing for high-profile events. As the wild stepchild of awards shows, the VMAs have always pushed the fashion envelope. This year, celebrity stylists expect the usual glamorous glitz. "It's going to be a lot of lace, royal gem tones, purples, greens, golds and silver," said stylist Rob Zangardi. Alexander Allen is dressing hip-hop star Monica for tonight's awards and says he is aiming for tasteful with a certain "sparkle and sexiness." "It's going to be youthful and a little bit edgy, so stay tuned," he tells us. "She has a new single, and since she isn't presenting, she needs to make her mark on the red carpet." The best part of the VMA red carpet? The dudes get just as decked out as the ladies. This year, they'll even borrow our skinny pants. "For men, I think we will see a lot of skinny suits, skinny pants and skinny jeans, very body conscious," Zangardi says. Last year's fashion highs included Kelly Clarkson, who hit the mark in a classy, low-backed floor-length gold gown, Hilary Duff looking smart in a beaded flapper frock, and Beyoncé, who was so stunning in her silver Dolce & Gabbana gown that she stopped men in their tracks on the white carpet. Hopefully, Gwen Stefani and Lindsay Lohan stayed in touch this week after showing up in nearly the same leopard print dress (neither was that flattering) at last year's awards. Jessica Simpson won't be repeating her frumpy flounce - a mistaken white top that made her look like an overdone milkmaid. We hear she will be going for something a little more put-together this year. But Continue Reading

EMMY READY. ‘The Insider’s’ red carpet queen finds the perfect dress for dishing with the stars

Lara Spencer will be on her feet for 16 hours at tonight's Emmys, so she needed to find a dress that would work just as hard as she will. After getting all the dirt on the red carpet, the "Insider" anchor will head out to host a fabulous after-party. Life's tough, we know, but you try standing in stilettos for that long. "It needs to be comfortable but durable and look great on television," she said from the dressing room of Bergdorf Goodman, where she tried on dresses last week. "The celebrities get out of their limos looking fresh as a daisy, and I need to make sure that after preparing on the red carpet for four hours, I don't look like a wilted rose. " Spencer starts her Emmy coverage at 8 a. m. today, reading scripts at her hotel room and assembling her hair and makeup team around 10 a. m. She will arrive at the Shrine Stadium at noon to prepare for the 4 p. m. red-carpet arrivals. "I drop 4 inches on the carpet," she says. "I take off my shoes because they shoot me from the waist up, so I'm barefoot or in flip-flops. " Later tonight, Spencer will co-host the Entertainment Tonight/People magazine party at the Mondrian. That means her outfit needs to be both television personality proper and hostess fabulous. And this hostess won't have time to change after six hours in the beating Los Angeles sun. "I need something to go the distance," she bemoans from the dressing room as she surveys a Jon Valdi halter dress. "Anything is going to end up with lines in it. Unless I wear matte jersey. ... Oooh, I could wear matte jersey," she says, as an afterthought. P. J. Mathews, a Bergdorf's personal shopper, hoists Spencer's lithe 38-year-old frame into another Jon Valdi number, one with an orange top instead of a white one. Bergdorf's personal shopping salon feels a bit chaotic because it is in the middle of a renovation. When it's finished, the store hopes to provide customers with more space, more scale and more individualized luxury. But Continue Reading
