Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released a statement Friday calling President Joe Biden’s court-packing commission a “direct assault on our nation’s independent judiciary.” In McConnell’s statement, he called the left’s attempt to pack the court a “direct assault on our nation’s independent judiciary,” another sign of the Biden administration veering further left. The Republican Senator said there is nothing to “study” about the judicial branch’s structure or operation, adding that any “rational observers know well there is nothing.” McConnell Continued: Constitutional scholars and the justices themselves have repeatedly affirmed the position of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: ‘nine seems to be a good number.’ Justice Breyer said just this week that ‘structural alteration’ like court packing would mean ‘eroding’ the public’s trust in the judiciary. And by overwhelming margins, the American people agree. Currently, a growing number of elected … [Read more...] about Mitch McConnell Blasts Joe Biden’s New Court Packing Commission, a ‘Direct Assault’ on the Judiciary

Did Joe Biden pack the Supreme Court commission to simply fail?
With the establishment of his commission to study the possible packing of the Supreme Court, President Biden has adjoined his name to one of the most inglorious efforts of Franklin Roosevelt. Court packing has long been anathema in the United States, and polls have consistently shown the vast majority of Americans oppose the idea. Some of us have called for expanding the court over a lengthy transitional period, but commentators and some Democrats called for an immediate infusion of new justices to give liberals the controlling majority. Unhappy with conservative rulings, Democrats demanded that the … [Read more...] about Did Joe Biden pack the Supreme Court commission to simply fail?
