On the latest episode of the Pivot podcast , Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway discuss the path forward for an imperiled industry. Kara Swisher : Let’s talk about the troubles for the entertainment industry and where we go from here. This is a chain that’s been struggling through the pandemic, and obviously so, because it’s a real experiential thing where you go and eat in the theater and they have food, and then you watch movies and beautiful seats, et cetera, et cetera. They’ll continue to operate, but have been acquired by Altamont Capital Partners, which frightens me in some way. They are, I … [Read more...] about Are Movie Theaters Completely Screwed?

Ask Amy: COVID-19 concerns dominate relationships
Dear Amy: I recently had a conversation with a friend that I am still ruminating about. She shared how she used a loophole to get a COVID vaccination that she really wasn’t entitled to receive. It was as if I should be impressed with how creative and smart she was to game the system. She then went on to describe how she will now be comfortable eating in restaurants, etc. I said I was happy for her and changed the subject so I could take time to process this. I’m all for that kind of enterprise. However, if your friend leapt through a loophole to snag an appointment before her turn, that’s completely unethical. I have read accounts of how some people have used their connections, money, and privilege to game the … [Read more...] about Ask Amy: COVID-19 concerns dominate relationships

Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson on Thursday described “the monster under every liberal’s bed” as a fictional “army” of Americans, who they consider “the other,” taking over the country with their guns and pick-up trucks. During his opening monologue on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson discussed the people he called the “one fear that rises above all other fears in the liberal mind,” and why modern “tribal” liberalism led people to believe there would be an attempted “QAnon” takeover of the Capitol on Thursday.
