Eagles quarterback Nick Foles could be in line for a big pay raise this offseason. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has a mutual contract option with the Eagles and he could opt out of the $20 million deal to hit free agency in March.Eagles coach Doug Pederson made it clear on Tuesday that fellow quarterback Carson Wentz would regain his starting job next season following his recovery from a stress fracture in his back. TAMPA, Fla. -- Nick Foles left the Raymond James Stadium field on Sunday as the Eagles starting quarterback. The Eagles lost 27-21. The next time Foles takes the field, he could be a backup again. He might not start another game this season. Carson Wentz, according to multiple reports, is likely to be cleared for contact next week and head coach Doug Pederson expects to provide an update on his franchise quarterback at his press conference in Philadelphia on Monday. While being cleared for taking hits is essential in Wentz's quest for a return to the field, the Eagles could choose to ease the third-year player back into the lineup as he continues to recover from the ACL and LCL surgeries he underwent in December. No matter what the Eagles decide to do with Wentz, Foles plans to support that decision, even if it means resuming his role as a clipboard holder. "Whatever the organization and the team ask of me, I'm going to do," Foles said after Sunday's loss. … [Read more...] about What Eagles’ Nick Foles thinks of Carson Wentz’s potential Week 3 return
