One year ago, Helix celebrated going to the San Diego Section Open Division championship game by winning at Cathedral Catholic.“They dogpiled on our field,” Dons junior first baseman Garrett Frechette recalled.On Wednesday, fifth-seeded Cathedral Catholic avenged that moment with a 3-1 victory at No. 4 Helix in the opening round of this year’s Open Division baseball playoffs.Frechette’s solo home run, his second this season, tied the game 1-1 in the fifth inning.
