U.S. Donald Trump 2020 Election It seems that Americans are split on whether we'll see a second term for President Donald Trump. A poll from CNN conducted by SSRS and released on Sunday showed the an increasing number of folks think that Trump will win in 2020. The poll released on Sunday asked: "As you may have heard, Donald Trump has decided to run for re-election. Please just give me your best guess, do you think he will win the presidential election in 2020, or do you think he will lose?" Forty-six percent responded they thought Trump would win. Forty-seven percent thought Trump would lose, while 7 percent had no opinion. When asked the same question in March, 54 percent of respondents thought Trump would lose, while 40 percent thought he would win. It's worth noting, however, that the CNN poll asked respondents who they thought would win and not who they want to win. Trump's approval rating remains relatively low. U.S. President Donald Trump and China are now in a full-fledged, tit-for-tat trade war that is quickly eroding into a deep battle with long-term implications. "The downward spiral that we have previously warned about now seems certain to materialize," said William Zarit, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. For Trump, it’s an escalation of a campaign promise made to rebalance the global trade scale with the aim of protecting American workers. He’s also bothered by America’s trading gap with China, estimated at $336 billion in 2017. But now that he’s engaged China in a trade war, there’s one big question looming: Can the U.S. and Donald Trump win? China, it's well documented, has declared its intentions to push beyond the United States in technology enterprise, developing plans including a “Made in China 2025” blueprint that calls for “creating powerful Chinese entities to compete in robotics and other fields." … [Read more...] about U.S. vs. China Trade War: Can U.S., Donald Trump Win the Trade War with China?

Stocks so far are taking the roller-coaster presidential election in stride, marching steadily higher this summer as most investors bet on a Hillary Clinton victory in November. But if Donald Trump -- and his difficult-to-nail-down economic agenda -- gain ground in polls in the coming months, the major indexes are likely to hit bumps as bad as the British reaction to Brexit. Stocks could fall as the likelihood rises of a Trump victory. "Equity prices would plunge, high-yield corporate bonds would sell off and U.S. Treasuries and the dollar would rally due to a heavy flight-to-safety flow," said economic forecaster Kathy Bostjancic, head of U.S. Macro Investor Services at Oxford Economics. She blames Trump's "lack of experience as a politician, uninformed views, and his unconventional, unpredictable approach to the role of President." Sad! Many Wall Street prognosticators are at least handicapping the Trump scenario -- identifying the stocks and sector plays they think are likely to pay … [Read more...] about Stocks to buy (or sell) if Donald Trump wins
MEXICO CITY -- Jose Osawa’s factory outside Mexico City produces a new type of cement repair mix. The North American Free Trade Agreement, known as NAFTA, allows Osawa to import the ingredients from the U.S. without paying tariffs. “Basically all my raw materials come from the states, all the machinery, all the electronics, they come from the U,S.,” Osawa said. The more mix he sells, the better those American suppliers come out. “My suppliers are very happy if I’m growing,” he said. That is one way to look at NAFTA. Donald Trump has another. “NAFTA is the worst trade deal maybe ever signed anywhere, but certainly ever signed in this country,” the Republican presidential candidate said in the final presidential debate. Trump has vowed to renegotiate or rip up the deal, which has contributed to protests against him in Mexico. Blanca Trevino is the CEO of Softtek, a technology service provider headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico. … [Read more...] about Mexican businesses fear NAFTA changes if Trump wins election
