The Creuzot Law Firm Not one time has my opponent in the race to become the next district attorney in Dallas County attempted to dissociate herself from those who back her campaign, particularly Texas Governor Greg Abbott and U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Why? Because she proudly stands with them and shares their right-wing values. Abbott, no friend of fair-minded people in our society, has been a proponent of policies that suppress voting by people of color, students and disabled individuals. He has allowed private prisons to exist in Texas, and he has done very little to stop violence in our schools and in our communities. When he needed to appoint someone to serve as district attorney in Dallas County, he reached out to Faith Johnson. He did so because he was confident that she would be a champion of the extreme right-wing policies that he and other extremely conservative Republicans want. He did not select her because she was a progressive. He selected her because he knew that … [Read more...] about Faith Johnson, Greg Abbott and Donald J. Trump
Adeptly named "The Commander In-Tweet," this exhibition joins a slew of others in The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library, showcasing Trump's prolific, often outlandish relationship with Twitter. Hosted by Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, the award-winning Library is headed to Miami. If past debuts in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago are any indication, it promises to be Trump-worthy fun. Trevor Noah and the Daily Show team are preparing to hit the road ahead of the library's momentous Florida reveal accompanying a week of show tapings. Daily Show executive producer Jen Flanz told New Times that Florida was a natural choice for the library and shows that are purposefully timed with this year's midterms: "You guys have a lot of the issues that I think voters are going to be very concerned about this election." Fellow exec producer Steve Bodow added to this point: "Big high-profile races," he said, explaining the show's decision to bring the … [Read more...] about The Daily Show’s Donald J. Judging by the political polls, it's either your dream come true or your worst nightmare: a store that sells nothing but goods dedicated to President Donald J. Trump. Owners of the Trumped Store and Cafe in Show Low, Arizona, are cashing in on Mr. Trump's time so far in the Oval Office, doing brisk business with merchandise aimed at the 45th president's biggest fans. From cardboard cutouts of administration officials to gold-plated $100 bills with Mr. Trump's face on them, it's the only brick-and-mortar store in the United States entirely dedicated to the president. Karen MacKean and Steve Slaton ran Northeastern Arizona's Trump headquarters as volunteers during the 2016 campaign, and noticed incredible demand for all things Trump, even after the election, so they decided to open a store. "We started with just a couple tables, a couple t-shirts, some hats...and now we have 27 t-shirts and 28 hats and variety of different products that people just love," Slaton told KPHO … [Read more...] about Store sells all things Donald J. Opinion Anyone still unsure of how (or even whether) they’ll vote in the midterms should consider this: All three branches of government are now under the control of one party, and that party is under the control of Donald J. Trump. With the addition of Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court is as firmly Republican as are the House and Senate. Kavanaugh has been revealed as a fierce partisan—not only as a legal advisor who helped Kenneth Starr prosecute Bill Clinton and potentially guided George W. Bush’s use of torture, but also a nominee who believed “leftists” and Clinton sympathizers were out to get him. He joins four other Republican-appointed jurists, equally partisan. Thomas, Alito, and Roberts have never wavered from Republican fundamentalism. Neil Gorsuch, although without much track record on the Supreme Court to date, was a predictable Republican vote on the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit—which is why the Heritage Foundation pushed for … [Read more...] about Robert Reich: Is There Anyone Left To Check Donald J.
