PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new COVID-19 mass vaccination site officially opened Wednesday morning at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The site opened at 8 a.m. and will stay open 12 hours a day, seven days a week for the next eight weeks. It’s all in an effort to give Philadelphia a fighting chance against the coronavirus. It’s run in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and staffed by members of the U.S. military. Wells Fargo Center Allowing Fans Back Sunday As Philadelphia Eases COVID-19 Events Restrictions
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — After waiting for nearly a year, fans will soon be allowed back at the Wells Fargo Center and Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley announced Tuesday that the city is changing its events restrictions to match Pennsylvania’s new limits for indoor and outdoor events. Indoor events will now have a 15% capacity regardless of the size of the venue and outdoor event space now has 20% capacity. The World Health Organization is defending its decision to appoint Dr. Peter Daszak to its investigative panel that probed the origins of COVID-19 in China in early 2021. As president of the nonprofit group EcoHealth Alliance, Daszak routed $600,000 in taxpayer funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to research bat-based coronaviruses prior to the pandemic.
