TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A university investigating the alcohol-related death of a student in Ohio has accused the fraternity he was trying to join of violating several student conduct rules involving hazing. Members of the fraternity at Bowling Green State University gave pledges bottles of alcohol on March 4 and encouraged each to finish an entire bottle. They included 20-year-old Stone Foltz, who died three days later, university officials said Friday. Former Federal Prosecutor To Help With Hazing Investigation At Bowling Green State University
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — A former federal prosecutor will help investigate an alleged, alcohol-related hazing incident that preceded the death of a Bowling Green State University student this month, the Ohio school announced Friday. The school and local law enforcement are investigating what happened to sophomore Stone Foltz, 20, at an off-campus event. The university has put the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity on interim suspension. The Young Conservatives of Texas at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, say that their anti-socialism display on campus was stolen overnight. The university claims to have no information about the memorial of 1,000 flags the students say they set up in memory of the more than 94 million victims of international socialism. The group planted 1,000 red flags on a lawn on campus near the school’s student center to represent the more than 94 million lives lost to socialism, according to a report by Campus Reform. The display was allegedly “gone” the next morning. “The whole entire memorial was gone, like no trace of it,” Sam Houston State student DianaLee Enriquez told Campus Reform. Penn State’s Historic Old Willow Tree Felled By Strong Winds
By: KDKA-TV News Staff UNIVERSITY PARK (KDKA) — A historic tree on Penn State’s campus is no more thanks to Friday’s heavy winds. The original old willow was planted on the University Park campus in 1859. This tree was the third descendant of that famous tree. The original tree succumbed to a storm in 1923 and pieces of that tree helped grow the second descendant before this most recent tree replaced it in the 1970s.
