Bob McManaman Arizona Republic Published 10:22 AM EST Jan 8, 2019 The Arizona Cardinals are interviewing Kliff Kingsbury for their open head coaching position on Tuesday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports. He tweeted that the Cardinals have "had sincere interest in the innovator for a while." Kingsbury is USC's offensive coordinator and was previously the head coach at Texas Tech. He had been denied permission to meet with NFL teams by USC, where he has been employed since early December as the Trojans’ offensive coordinator. In what was believed to be an unprecedented move by USC Athletic Director Lynn Swann, Kingsbury wasn’t allowed to talk to either the Cardinals or the Jets, who each had sought permission to interview him for their vacant head-coaching positions. Bob McManaman Arizona Republic Published 1:40 PM EST Jan 1, 2019 With their last-second 27-24 loss Sunday in Seattle, the Cardinals’ 13th defeat of the season turned out to bring them some luck.
