LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – The city is expected to have a $550 million revenue shortfall by the end of the fiscal year even as revenues could rebound during the next fiscal year, officials said Monday. Los Angeles Controller Ron Galperin said for the current fiscal year through June 30, General Fund revenues are projected to be 8.3% lower than the $6.14 billion that was budgeted. Photo: @jennylamlow/Twitter A young Brooklyn man who allegedly stabbed and critically wounded a 36-year-old Asian man on Thursday night in Manhattan’s Chinatown has not been be charged with a hate crime, after a confusing set of announcements from the New York City Police Department. Cops initially indicated that they did not suspect the attack was a hate crime on Thursday. The NYPD then appeared to reverse course and said there would be hate crime charges on Friday , but the Manhattan DA’s office didn’t file any on Saturday. The victim, who has not been identified, was admitted to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition following the attack, and was still hospitalized in critical condition on Saturday. William Smith, 45, face multiple charges, including murder and assault.
