Bay City News Service Published 11:33 pm, Monday, April 23, 2018 SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) A San Bruno man was charged today with 20 counts related to an auto burglary spree between 2016 and 2017, San Francisco prosecutors said. Deshawn Patton, 21, was booked into San Francisco County Jail on $625,000 bail. He was charged with nine misdemeanors, including two counts of receiving stolen property, one count of possession of a burglary tool, one count of unauthorized use of radio communication, three counts of resisting police officers, one count of theft and one count of hit-and-run causing property damage. The alleged crimes happened between April 12, 2016 and May 18, 2017, according to the district attorney's office. San Bruno man indicted in SF auto burglary spree
A 21-year-old man has been indicted in connection with a series of auto burglaries as San Francisco continues to get a handle on the car break-in problem, District Attorney George Gascon announced Monday. A grand jury indicted Deshawn Patton, of San Bruno, last Thursday on 20 counts including felony auto burglary for allegedly breaking into cars around The City between April 2016 and May 2017. Patton allegedly targeted rental cars with victims visiting from as far away as China and Germany, and from other states including Pennsylvania, George and Rhode Island, according to the District Attorney’s Office. The news comes as the San Francisco Police Department attempts to clamp down on the car break-in problem through a public information campaign and doubled foot patrols. Southern Maine robbery spree intensifies with 4 hold-ups in last 2 days
A man held an Amato’s employee at gunpoint Wednesday night in Brunswick during the fourth armed robbery in a little more than 24 hours in southern Maine. The cluster of robberies Tuesday and Wednesday come after a string of 11 other robberies or robbery attempts, almost all involving a masked man brandishing a handgun and matching a similar description. The unusual rash of robberies has put the owners and employees of small businesses on alert, and led police to increase patrols and advise businesses to avoid confronting the robber if they are targeted. Police departments in multiple communities, with help from the FBI, are sharing information and have said that they consider many of the unsolved robberies to be connected.
