CBS News is relaunching "Intelligence Matters," a popular podcast hosted by former CIA Acting Director and CBS News national security contributor Michael Morell that features interviews with leading intelligence and national security officials and experts. The podcast, which launched in 2017, was previously produced in partnership with The Cipher Brief, a website dedicated to national security topics. In the first episode of the "Intelligence Matters" podcast, Michael Morell speaks with former NSA and CIA Director General Michael Hayden, who details in a new book his concerns about the threat posed by what he calls a "post-truth world" to American institutions and traditions. As spring football practices across the country have come to an end, the latest football rankings show there’s nothing new at the top and college football fans in the state of Michigan should have some good teams to follow come fall. CBS Sportsline released its post-spring practice rankings on Tuesday and to no surprise, Alabama is ranked No. 1. Clemson is at No. 2, Georgia at 3 and Ohio State at 4. Michigan State is at No. 5. CBS Sportsline’s Dennis Dodd says of the Spartans: “If it's not Ohio State in the East, it's got to be the Spartans. Mark Dantonio gets back sneaky-good quarterback Brian Lewerke and tailback LJ Scott. Private insurers and the lawyers who represent them are profiting from National Flood Insurance Program, while some flooded homeowners are being low-balled for their claims, CBS News asserts in a pair of reports that focus in part on Louisiana. The program profiles Richard and Linda Brown, whose home was destroyed in the 2016 floods in Louisiana. The Browns are still living in a gutted home, after receiving $62,000 in flood insurance. The policy was worth $168,000, according to the report. One lawyer hired by insurance companies to fight homeowners' claims, meanwhile, has been paid at least $29 million for cases arising from Superstorm Sandy alone.Watch the first report here.Watch the second report here.
