Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher Divorcing? NHL Player Responds To Rumors

Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher has decided to put a stop on circulating rumors claiming that he is divorcing the “American Idol” Season 4 winner after being married for almost eight years. The 37-year-old NHL player made it clear on Wednesday that he and Underwood are at a good place in their marriage. In response to a fan who gave him a piece of advice on his alleged marital woes via social media, Fisher said that he and Underwood have “never been better.” The fan apparently thought that Fisher’s biblical post last weekend was his way of subtly confirming the rumors saying he and Underwood are in the process of legally separating for good. “Praying for you and Carrie. Ignore the media! Hold tight to each other. There are always bumps in the road,” the concerned fan commented to Fisher’s post that quotes Psalm 139:23-24, which read: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Since Fisher made his post amid reports alleging his and Underwood’s marital woes, many fans actually perceived it as a cry for help. The post has since received more than 22,000 comments from fans who were worried that the lovely couple could go separate ways. Given Fisher’s response though, it’s clear that he and the Grammy-winning songstress are in no way heading to a divorce. In fact, a friend of Underwood’s recently disclosed to Us Weekly that she and her husband are in the process of trying to become pregnant, two years after welcoming their first son, Isaiah. “Everyone around her knows she wants a big family, and they’re always trying for another baby,” Underwood’s pal said. The Canadian athlete and the country singer tied the knot in July 2010 at the Ritz-Carlton resort in Lake Oconee, Georgia. They exchanged wedding vows after almost two years of dating. Carrie Underwood donates $10,000 to injured police officer from her hometown

Carrie Underwood generously donated $10,000 to an Oklahoma police officer critically injured in a Feb. 11 car crash. Checotah Assistant Police Chief Justin Durrett, whom Underwood grew up with as they attended the same church, was on his way to work when he was involved in an accident. The officer’s truck rolled and he was ejected, according to details shared on his GoFundMe page set up by a family friend to cover bills and medical expenses. The father of two and 13-year veteran of the Checotah Police Department, 35, suffered a broken neck and bruised spine among other injuries that have left him numb from the chest down. He remains in the intensive care unit. The country singer, who wed NHL star Mike Fisher in July 2010, used her married name to give the donation on the GoFundMe page on Feb. 17. The mother of Durrett’s two children confirmed Underwood’s donation on social media. Haskell County Sheriff Tim Turner shared details of the horrific crash on Facebook revealing Durrett was trapped under his vehicle and was found by a deputy from his own department who came across the crash in the early morning hours. “[Durrett] has some very serious injuries and will have a very long recovery,” the Checotah Police Department said on Facebook Feb. 12. Durrett had not been wearing a seat belt, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report stated, according to local news outlets. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Continue Reading

According to the Predators' official site, Fisher is aiming to sign a contract before the Feb. 26 trade deadline, though the movie is "virtually unprecedented — only a handful of NHLers have stepped out of retirement and back onto the ice to give it one more try." Fisher, 37, wed the "Before He Cheats" singer in 2010. Their son, Isaiah, will turn 3 this month. He retired in August after seven seasons with the Predators, his final as team captain. Ex-Islander Mike Comrie marries Hilary Duff, marking yet another hockey-and-Hollywood wedding

He shoots, he scores! Hockey hunks have officially shed that toothless goon image, transformed into goal-scoring machines with the ladies. Actress Hilary Duff is the latest to fall head over skates, marrying her hockey-playing beau, Mike Comrie, over the weekend. Duff, 22, and Comrie, a 29-year-old former Islander, were wed in a lavish sunset ceremony on Saturday in Montecito, Calif. The two began dating in 2007 and got engaged in February while vacationing in Hawaii. The "Lizzie McGuire" star, who had previously been linked to rocker Joel Madden and teen singer Aaron Carter, joins an All-Star lineup at center ice. Country crooner Carrie Underwood married Ottawa Senators star Mike Fisher in a fairy-tale ceremony in Georgia in July. At that classy reception, guests reportedly found their table assignments inscribed on hockey pucks. Despite all the missing teeth and questionable hockey hairdos, most hockey-Hollywood pairings have endured long shifts on the ice. Former Baywatch babe Gena Lee Nolin has stuck by her hubby, retired hockey player Cale Hulse, since 2004. "Full House" actress Candace Cameron - sister of "Growing Pains" hunk-turned-evangelist Kirk Cameron - has been married to retired NHL star Valeri Bure since 1996.Tennis player Anna Kournikova once dated Bure's brother, Pavel, and is said to have once been married to Russian hockey legend Sergei Fedorov, although she denies it.But some hockey romances have ended in serious, bench-clearing brawls. Before she once-and-for-all tossed high-stickin' hunk Levi Johnston into the penalty box, Bristol Palin sparked her Grizzlymama Sarah Palin's ire with her on-again, off-again romance with her baby daddy.Rangers legend Ron Greschner was sued in 2008 by his ex-wife Carol Alt - more than a decade after they'd split up - who claimed he owed her $9 million. And Rangers serial model-dater Sean Avery has put his skate in his mouth on several occasions, commenting on his love life. The Continue Reading

CMT Music Awards 2010: Former ‘American Idol’ champion Carrie Underwood wins for ‘Cowboy Casanova’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The fans love Carrie Underwood and they proved it again during the CMT Music Awards. The former "American Idol" champ won Wednesday night's top honor, video of the year for "Cowboy Casanova," and CMT performance of the year for "Temporary Home" two months after making history by winning her second Academy of Country Music Awards entertainer of the year. Both awards are chosen by fans tuned into the live shows. She was the night's only multiple winner. "They were there before I had anything, an album, a record deal, a tour or anything like that," Underwood said after the show. "They built me from the ground up." The CMT Awards, which are chosen exclusively by fan voting, were another salute to some of country music's top young stars. Lady Antebellum continued its scorching run by winning group video of the year for the trio's crossover hit "Need You Now" and Miranda Lambert taking female video of the year for "White Liar," her first No.1 song. "Tonight's all about the fans," trio member Dave Haywood said after receiving the belt buckle trophy given to winners. "Thank you fans!" Lambert followed up three wins at the ACM Awards with yet another win. She jumped up and pumped her fists as she made her way through the crowd and shouted, "My first buckle! This rocks!" when she reached the stage. Lambert's "White Liar" video features the red-hot singer ditching her dishonest husband-to-be at the alter for his cheating ways. It was the first time she put on a wedding dress. The second time will come when she weds fiance Blake Shelton. "Let's just hope that my next wedding doesn't end up like that video," she told the crowd. Keith Urban won male video of the year for "'Til Summer Comes Around." After sending a shoutout to his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, who attended the awards, he turned serious and talked of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. "I want to send my deepest love to all the families around the gulf, who are going through Continue Reading

Lavish wedding doesn’t mean lasting love but low-key Chelsea Clinton has shot at happily ever after

So Chelsea Clinton's wedding will cost some $3 million? I mean, what is she supposed to do - run off to Hawaii like Megan Fox? The daughter of the 42nd President and Secretary of State Clinton has, by choice, lived her life on the down low. When Chelsea says, "I do" at her wedding to Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday, it will be the first time many people have heard her voice. One of the invited guests says, "Chelsea is really, really down to earth." She's waited until she's 30 to marry a man she met in college. She's sure and mature, and this marriage has a chance to last longer than most celebrity unions. Plus, with 500 guests like Oprah, Barbra and Spielberg, let's hope they spring for gifts like the $650 Rancilio Silvia espresso maker - not the $45 one. It's not as if the former First Daughter is dressing 10 bridesmaids in Dolce & Gabbana and stuffing magnolia trees with white roses, like Fergie did for her wedding to Josh Duhamel. She didn't have a Swarovski-crystal-encrusted tuxedo made for a pet Chihuahua, as Carrie Underwood did at her $500,000 wedding on July 10. Chelsea's not flying off to a castle in Italy like Katie Holmes. And she won't have to bring the head of the Church of Scientology on her honeymoon with her, as Holmes did. Sure, this bride is getting married at an estate John Jacob Astor once owned, but where else are peeps like Babs supposed to land their choppers? Chelsea's just being practical. Speaking of helicopters, one of the items on Bill and Hillary's tab may well be the cost of closing down air space above Rhinebeck during the ceremony. We all know how chopperazzi ruined Madonna's first wedding, to Sean Penn, and how Whoopi Goldberg then classed up her wedding to Lyle Trachtenberg by painting "F--- You" in giant letters on her roof. Then there's the cost of air-conditioned tents. Global warming, er, the heat wave, might still be going on: Is she supposed to let rich people like Ted Turner, Steven Continue Reading

Carrie Underwood engaged to Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher

Carrie Underwood is off the market! The country singer to set to wed Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher, reports. "I'm happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn't be happier," her rep confirmed. "No wedding date has been set at this time." The hockey hunk confirmed the news just before preparing for tonight's game against the Boston Bruins, reports the Ottawa Sun. "It's true,” he said. "We're both obviously excited and very happy." Fisher, 29, reportedly proposed to the 26-year-old singer at his home Sunday afternoon, before sharing the news with his friends later that day. Rumors of the engagement apparently began shortly after a friend of Underwood's family congratulated the couple on their upcoming nuptials on Fisher's Twitter page Sunday night. The couple, who have been dating for the past year, have kept their relationship relatively under the radar. However Underwood did give her future husband a shout out on the liner notes of her new album, “Play On.” "Thank you #12," she wrote, referring to Fisher's jersey number. "You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day... xoxo, Carrie." Join the Conversation: Continue Reading
