Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson speculated on why National Guard troops remain in Washington, DC, even though the incident they were there to respond to took place nearly two months ago. According to Carlson, there were there to prop up the Biden administration. Transcript as follows: CARLSON: Oh, liberals are a fearful group. The list of things American liberals are afraid of can fill an entire shelf of volume, someone should write them down, and actually, it would make an amusing reference set. The Encyclopedia of Liberal Neuroses: Unabridged. Absolutely everything upsets liberals, agitates them, inflames their allergies. Nature itself is a terrifying experience for liberals, because they can’t control it. It’s got all of these sex differences and climate fluctuations. Liberals like this are the ones that you see sporting their little paper obedience masks while they exercise outside on a windy day. They’ll pass you on their … [Read more...] about FNC’s Carlson: ‘The Troops Are in the Capital for Political Reasons — They’re There to Prop Up the Regime’

Eric Swalwell Sues Donald Trump and Allies over Capital Riots
Ex-House impeachment manager Eric Swalwell (D-CA) confirmed Friday he will sue former President Donald Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani and Republican Rep. Mo Brooks in a second major lawsuit seeking to hold Trump and his allies accountable for the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Swalwell’s action follows a similar suit filed last month by Rep. Bennie Thompson against Trump, Giuliani and the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups. Today, I filed a civil claim against Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Rudolph Giuliani, and Rep. Mo Brooks for inciting an attack against the Capitol that terrorized lawmakers and prevented us from certifying the votes of the American people. My statement: pic.twitter.com/wmSMcEzeL6 — Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) March 5, 2021 Swalwell’s case echoes some of the same claims as Thompson’s — citing a civil rights law meant to counter the Ku Klux Klan’s intimidation of elected officials. According to Axios, the lawsuit … [Read more...] about Eric Swalwell Sues Donald Trump and Allies over Capital Riots
Students Pursuing Risky Degrees Draw More Than $25 Billion In Yearly Federal Loans
Noël Flynn is spending more than 80 percent of her income to pay back tens of thousands of dollars in debt for her Art Therapy degree. In 2016 alone, the Department of Education loaned $25.9 billion to students who, like Flynn, chose degrees under the umbrella of the liberal arts and humanities , an analysis by The Daily Caller News Foundation found. A significant portion of those students are unlikely to have the means to pay back their debt after graduating. “I find myself struggling financially, and the biggest reason why is student loans,” said Flynn, 23, who says she was told the loans “wouldn’t be overwhelming” once she graduated. Most federal student loan programs do not require a credit check , nor do they require a cosigner. Rather, the loans are backed by nothing more than the borrower’s future earnings with a college degree, but the kind of degree isn’t a consideration in the loan process. “What you make depends on what you take,” Anthony Carnevale, … [Read more...] about Students Pursuing Risky Degrees Draw More Than $25 Billion In Yearly Federal Loans
Ethiopia Releases BBC Journalist, Others Detained in Tigray
U.S. lawmakers and rights groups welcomed the release Wednesday of four journalists and media workers in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, and highlighted the important role the press plays in covering unrest. The BBC confirmed the release of Girmay Gebru, a reporter for its language service, who was detained Monday, and said it was “seeking a full explanation.” Translators with the French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Britain's Financial Times and a journalist working with The New York Times were also released, Abebe Gebrehiwot Yihdego, deputy head of Tigray's interim administration, told Reuters . U.S. Representative Michael McCaul, the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, described their release as “a positive development,” but told VOA the arrests “never should have happened in the first place.” “There must be full access to journalists and independent investigators to look into these disturbing reports,” said McCaul, of Texas. Gimray … [Read more...] about Ethiopia Releases BBC Journalist, Others Detained in Tigray
Woke Wars: Don’t Be ‘Bullied’ by ‘Left-Wing Campaigns’, Culture Sec Begs Museums
The Conservative culture minister has told the institutions trusted with preserving Britain’s cultural heritage not to let themselves be “bullied” by “left-wing campaigns”, as convenors of museums and other spaces come under increasing pressure from Black Lives Matter-inspired activists to unperson historical figures. Britain’s statues , street names , and memorials most recently became targets for damage and destruction by cultural Marxist protesters during and in the wake of the Black Lives Matter demonstrations sparked by the death of George Floyd last year in the United States. Coupled with the wanton vandalism, many administrators of the United Kingdom’s local governments have capitulated to the pressure, commissioning audits of the names of streets, buildings, and other furnishings of public spaces in case they were named after historical figures who may have been in any way connected to slavery, colonialism, empire, or were otherwise accused of racism. Amidst … [Read more...] about Woke Wars: Don’t Be ‘Bullied’ by ‘Left-Wing Campaigns’, Culture Sec Begs Museums
