Online Trading Academy aims to give students specialized education

Some seek a stable financial future. Others were burned by unscrupulous financial advisors. There are those who realistically can’t work enough hours in a week to get out of debt.Whatever reason has brought students to Ken Beckrich, the CEO and owner of Online Trading Academy Phoenix aims for each of them to get what they reach for by giving them a super specialized education that can’t be obtained through traditional academia.The academy offers online and in-person courses and workshops on core and specialty areas ranging from stocks and options to Forex and futures. Students’ reasons for attending one or a series of classes vary, but they all wish to understand how the market works — and make it work for them.“They want to learn how to grow income and make more money personally as opposed to relying on someone else. They realize they don’t know the questions to ask,” said Beckrich, who acquired the Phoenix franchise in 2010. “They can’t take this class in college or elsewhere.”The lack of knowledge or intimidation of what can be an overwhelming and complicated facet of finance could be obstacles to developing an investment strategy that goes beyond a savings account.According to Gallup, only 54 percent of Americans invest in the market, either through individual stocks, mutual funds, pensions or retirement plans like a 401(k). That’s down 11 percent since the Great Recession. It also makes younger generations gun shy, with fewer than a third of people ages 18-29 owning stocks between 2009-2017.
