(AP) — Death Valley National Park's most popular sites will reopen to the public on Saturday, two weeks after massive flash-flooding, but the National Park Service cautioned visitors to expect delays and continuing road closures. Locations that will reopen include the Furnace Creek Visitor Center, Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point, and Mesquite Sand Dunes, according to the park's Facebook page. Access to the park will be limited to State Route 190 and Panamint Valley Road. Visitors were warned to plan ahead and not rely on GPS because all other paved roads will remain closed for repairs, and backcountry roads are still being assessed. President Donald Trump criticized presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s plans to allow 125,000 refugees admittance to the U.S. on an annual basis during a speech in Minnesota on Monday, the Associated Press reported. “He [Biden] would overwhelm Minnesota with refugees, from terror hotspots, depleting public services, burdening schools, and straining city budgets,” Trump said during a speech on a tarmac in Minnesota, the AP reported . Trump capped refugee admissions for 2020 at 18,000, according to a White House statement . Man Accused of Trying to Buy Stolen Human Remains for Possible Resale
A man in Pennsylvania is facing charges for allegedly trying to buy stolen human remains to potentially resell on social media. The charges included abuse of a corpse and receiving stolen property, the Associated Press (AP) reported Friday: A spokeswoman for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock confirmed that the remains had been donated to UAMS’s facility and were sent to a mortuary for cremation. UAMS spokeswoman Leslie Taylor said the remains were sent to Arkansas Central Mortuary Services in Little Rock where they were allegedly stolen by a female mortuary employee and sold, adding that there is an open federal investigation. As of Thursday, officials had not charged the woman. Meanwhile, police announced the arrest of Jeremy Lee Pauley, 40, an Enola resident. He was taken into custody on July 22 and appeared in court on Thursday.
