Hillary Clinton had a very Las Vegas experience Thursday night while campaigning ahead of the Nevada caucuses: she met pop star Britney Spears. The pop star, who is performing in her own show on the Las Vegas Strip, tweeted out selfies with Clinton. "Being in Vegas for #PieceOfMe is amazing for so many reasons... Especially today ... because I had the incredible opportunity to meet @HillaryClinton!!" Spears tweeted, calling Clinton "such an inspiration and beautiful voice for women around the world." "This woman had an intense presence and I felt very honored to meet her!!!" Spears posted on Instagram. Spears stopped short of a full endorsement, however. She reportedly included the #ImWithHer hashtag in her initial Instagram post -- the official hashtag of the Clinton campaign -- but later deleted it. Clinton is campaigning across Nevada in the final day before Saturday's Democratic caucuses, where she is locked in a tight race with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Continue Reading

"Here at ‘The Tonight Show,' we're all about making love connections, so before the show you did something cool. SEE IT: 286-pound Israeli man discusses replacing Britney Spears in parody of ‘Work B–ch’ music video

Gal Volinez doesn't look anything like Britney Spears, but he's having a lot of success posing as her body double. The 6-foot 286-pound resident of Tel Aviv released a bizarre, very popular parody, called "Hi Brit," of the blonde pop star's music video "Work B--ch." The 31-year-old poses in Britney's place during each frame of his video, gyrating and flirting with the camera. Volinez told the Daily News through email that though many people find the video hilarious, it is not just in good fun. He is also making a statement about the human body. I love the part where I dance. It makes a lovely dissonance between my fat body and the action it makes. "I am an artist, my medium is video, and in my line of work I examine and re-examine the human body and its politics," he said. "For me it is important to re-examine social taboos — what does it mean to be an accepted 'pop star,' and what is the correct look? What is the correct demeanor?" Volinez said he filmed himself while imitating Britney's moves that he played on a nearby laptop. The process was quite easy, he said, though it did take a lot of work to re-edit himself over Britney for the video. Gal Volinez, 31, of Tel Aviv, Israel, inserted himself into Britney Spears' ‘Work B--ch’ music video to replace the pop star. "I love the part where I dance," he said. "It makes a lovely dissonance between my fat body and the action it makes." He said reactions to the video have been very positive, which he said is in large part due to "the element of surprise." But Volinez said he believed the film had an element of darkness that people who just glance at his film probably miss. Volinez said he made the video to make a statement about the human body and its importance in pop culture. This is the second video Volinez has done that includes the Las Vegas singer. His video in April Continue Reading

Man arrested for rushing stage at Britney Spears’ Las Vegas show

Britney Spears' bodyguards and dancers earned their salaries Wednesday night, stopping a man who snuck onstage in Las Vegas, where the singer has a residency at Planet Hollywood, TMZ and Las Vegas' KNTV report.A bodyguard standing to Spears' right noticed the man from across the stage and tried to get the singer's attention as she performed Crazy. But she didn't seem to catch on until her dancers and other guards had him pinned down. Informed of what had happened, Spears' knees briefly buckled as she asked the guards if everyone else was OK and whether the man had a gun. She was then ushered backstage while the man was handcuffed and escorted out and then later resumed the show.On Thursday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told USA TODAY in a statement that they arrested 37-year-old Jesse Webb, whom security had asked to leave even before he got on stage. They said he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center but as of the time of publication, he was not yet in their database.Wednesday was Spears' first show back after a summer tour of Asia, she noted in a tweet earlier that afternoon.     Continue Reading

Britney Spears shows off walking boot after taking fall on stage: ‘This boot was made for walkin’

Britney Spears can make anything seem sexy, even a moment of vulnerability. The 33-year-old singer tweeted a photo of herself Friday sporting the ultimate accessory for her injured left foot. Spears wore a walking boot and struck a pose from what appears to be her Las Vegas hotel room. "This boot was made for walkin," she tweeted. The hit me "Baby One More Time" star took a sudden spill while on stage Wednesday night during her performance at Planet Hollywood in Vegas, turning her left ankle. She gamely kept on belting out the lyrics to her 1999 hit "(You Drive Me) Crazy," but canceled her Friday and Saturday shows under doctor's orders. "Your kind words mean everything to me!" she tweeted after the fall. "I'm rescheduling this weekend's shows and will let ya'll know when we have the new dates. xoxo." And for fans who can't wait for more Britney, Iggy Azalea and Spears release their collaborative single "Pretty Girls" on Monday. Iggy Azalea blames Britney Spears’ lack of promotion for ‘Pretty Girls’ flop

It's getting ugly between the pretty girls. Iggy Azalea seemed to be placing the blame on Britney Spears for their track "Pretty Girls" bombing on the charts. "It's difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc.," the Australian rapper wrote Monday during a Twitter Q&A. "Unfortunately I'm just featured…" While Spears didn't do much in the way of promotions prior to the song's May 4 release, many could argue that the "Fancy" rapper has no room for critique given her recently canceled tour and headlining appearance at a Pittsburgh gay pride event. So when Brit's fans jumped to her defense against Azalea's shade, the 25-year-old rapper didn't dial back but instead went harder. "My comment is factual," she responded. "It applies to any song. I don't have to suck the womans a--hole 24/7 to be her friend, do I? Bye girls." The facts are that the song peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, dropped out of the top 40 in three weeks, and sold a mere 96,000 in total sales to date both digitally and streaming, reports the Daily Beast. Those numbers pale in comparison to Spears' countless No. 1 hits, international superstar status, $46 million net worth and Las Vegas residency. In short, Spears has nothing to worry about when it comes to Azalea's take on her business decisions. "Am I the bad guy for wishing we had done more?" Azalea tweeted, adding, "At the end of the day I'm happy if she's happy, and she is." But of course, the 33-year-old singer has plenty to smile about and reminded fans on Twitter of that exactly. "Can't wait to get back to Vegas," Spears wrote. "So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to … #YouWantAPieceOfMe" Ironically, her tweet was posted hours after Azalea's Q&A on Continue Reading

Britney Spears cancels shows after fall at Las Vegas concert

Oops, Britney Spears did it again! The pop star took a tumble during her Las Vegas concert on Wednesday night, forcing her to cancel and reschedule her Friday and Saturday shows. The singer took to instagram to share the bad news with her fans.  "After hurting my ankle last night my doctor has advised me not to perfomr this weekend," she wrote. "Your kind words mean everything to me." During her performance of her 1999 hit “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” Spears suddenly fell down after rolling her left ankle. The “Lucky” singer winced in pain as she clutched her ankle, but ever the professional, continued singing while on the ground, before being helped up by her backup dancers to finish the number. “Alrighty then!” Spears told the crowd after the performance. “Sorry about that!” The 33-year-old star assured fans that she was fine after the onstage mishap, tweeting, “Thank you all for the sweet wishes! Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I’m ok!” It wasn’t the first time Spears experienced a snafu during her "Piece of Me" residency: The singer’s sequined costume came undone in December 2013, and her hair extensions fell out during a concert just last month. Britney Spears announces plans to extend Las Vegas residency following on-stage fall

Britney Spears said "the show must go on" after taking a spill on-stage in Las Vegas last week. In fact, the pop star appeared on "Ellen" Tuesday to announce she's extending her Sin City residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino "for three more months." "I just think you should give our entire audience tickets," she told the daytime talk show host while wearing a black supportive boot with her black mini-dress. "I tore some ligaments," she explained. Spears hurt herself during one of her sold out Las Vegas "Piece of Me" performances on Wednesday when she fell on stage. "I actually wasn't doing anything that hard. I was just kind of bopping around," the "Crazy" singer recalled. The outcome of the fall wasn't Spears' biggest concern. It was the fact that she hasn't taken a tumble like that during any of her Vegas performances since the beginning of her residency. "I've done like eight years worth of shows. Plenty of shows and I've never actually fell on stage so it was really kind of embarrassing," she confessed. She first showed off the medical boot on Instagram Friday, two days after the on-stage fall. "This boot was made for walkin'," she playfully captioned the pic. Despite the injury, Spears' Vegas residency, a 113-performance deal that began on Dec. 27, 2013 and was originally slated to conclude in September, has been extremely successful and has already garnered the pop star some awards. "So you won these awards, which are really cool," DeGeneres said. "You won best show in Vegas, best bachelorette party in Vegas, so people come to your show and you must see wild things." "A lot of wild things," Spears replied before providing an example. "Tattoos of my face on people's arms, which is really kind of crazy." ON A MOBILE DEVICE? WATCH THE VIDEO HERE. Continue Reading
