The Sprint Salute to Law Enforcement, presented by Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, is set to start at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Willowbrook Mall. Spring ISD Police Department and Willowbrook Mall, will bring together more than 100 law enforcement agencies and officers who will stand ready to greet the public, displaying a unified law enforcement effort and event for citizens. More than 50,000 children and adults are expected to attend the free event. Scheduled for Saturday, May 2, the Salute will draw attention to National Police Week, which begins Monday, May 4, and it will provide additional exposure for law enforcement in greater Houston. Two Deported Child Rapists Arrested After Crossing California Border
San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two previously deported child rapists after they illegally re-entered the U.S. in separate incidents.Agents patrolling the U.S.-Mexico International Boundary on the evening of December 5 encountered a group of migrants about seven miles into California. An initial interview determined all five migrants to be Mexican nationals illegally present in the U.S., according to San Diego Sector officials. The agents arrested the five and transported them to the station for processing. All migrants apprehended by Border Patrol agents undergo a biometric background investigation. One of the men, a 49-year-old Mexican national, was an aggravated felon who had been previously deported, according to authorities. Court records indicate that a Washington state court convicted the man in 2003 for Rape of a Child and Child Molestation, officials stated. The court sentenced the man to 131 months in prison. On Saturday afternoon, a group of about fifty tech workers, attorneys, anti-surveillance activists, and other Bay Area denizens stood outside a three-story, nine-bedroom, twenty-five-million-dollar mansion. It is the home of the investor, entrepreneur, and Trump adviser Peter Thiel, who co-founded Palantir Technologies, in 2004. Thiel’s house is located on what is known as Billionaires’ Row, in San Francisco’s tony Pacific Heights, close to the Lyon Street Steps. Old-money heirs such as the Getty and Traina families, and software-industry giants, including Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle, have homes nearby. Border Patrol Apprehends Two Large Migrant Groups at Central Texas Border
Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended two “large groups” of mostly Haitian, South American, and African migrants. On two days this week, the Del Rio Station agents apprehended a total of 310 migrants.“Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents have apprehended people from over 45 countries around the world,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz said in a written statement. “Our agents, along with the assistance of our DHS partners, continue to meet each new challenge as the ongoing humanitarian crisis evolves.” On June 24, Del Rio Station agents apprehended a large group of 205 illegal aliens who crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico. Officials reported the group consisted of 122 Haitian nationals. The remaining migrants came to the U.S. from African and South America, officials reported.
